Got it! Jun 29, 2022, 10:00pm EDT | Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts 2022 Credit: AEW AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts aired from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich. with a Blood and Guts main event pitting the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Eddie Kingston, Santana, Ortiz and Claudio Castagnoli) against the Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Sammy Guevara, “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard and “Cool Hand” Angelo Parker and Jake Hager). This was the fallout show for AEW Forbidden Door , which saw television ratings crater during the buildup to the show.
Last week’s broadcast of AEW Dynamite drew 878,000 viewers, which also drew AEW’s third-lowest viewership in the 18-49 demo of the year. AEW Blood and Guts Match Card Jericho Appreciation Society vs. Blackpool Combat Club | Blood and Guts Christian Cage Interview Jade Cargill vs.

Ethan Page After calling part of AEW Forbidden Door, Jim Ross resumed his part-time role as he was advertised only to call the Blood and Guts match. Somehow, Dan Lambert was able to get Best Friends kicked out of this match, however Lambert remained ringside. Orange Cassidy now has new theme music is “ Jane” by Jefferson Starship.
It was the rare occurrence of a wrestler going from one mainstream music theme to another. Orange Cassidy used the “power of the pockets” while Ethan Page picked him up for a power bomb. Cassidy essentially put his hands in his pockets and was able to successfully escape.
Dan Lambert hilariously screamed “finish this guy! He looks like he’s 12 years old!” Amid all the wackiness of this highly entertaining match, Orange Cassidy won with a body slam. Christian Cage Interview; Luchasaurus def. Serpentico Christian Cage received immense heat for his comments last week.
Christian Cage was asked to apologize by “upper management,” and accordingly, he apologized that everybody else in Jungle Boy’s family wasn’t dead—except for his mom. Luchasaurus, dressed in all black, is apparently aligned with/brainwashed by Christian Cage. I’ll believe it when he physically harms Jungle Boy.
Luchasaurus’ finisher was an impressive-looking snare trap with a nerve hold. Danhausen, FTR def. The Acclaimed and The Gunn Club During his freestyle, Max Caster pondered how the AEW audience can cheer a white guy doing white face.
Clearly he doesn’t read my articles. The announce team was pleasantly surprised every time Danhausen executed any offensive maneuver. Anthony Bowens revealed that he could walk, only to mess up and accidentally strike Austin Gunn with his crutch.
What a waste of what could have been a great moment. Then AEW teased tension between the Acclaimed and the Gunn Club, one of the most entertaining stables on the roster. Jade Cargill def.
Leila Grey It’s wild that Leila Grey is getting a TBS Championship shot before either Athena or Kris Statlander. Jade Cargill’s 34th win, a quick squash match with a hope spot, was quite possibly the least-surprising yet. Jade Cargill was great during the post-match, screaming “who?!” when Stokely Hathaway name-dropped Kris Statlander and Athena.
Leila Grey joined in on the fray, helping Jade Cargill and Kiera Hogan stomp out Athena and Statlander. It seemed like she was going to become the newest baddie, but Cargill was having none of it. Blackpool Combat Club Wins AEW Blood and Guts Excalibur described “Blood and Guts” as a match “unlike anything in pro wrestling” despite the fact that it’s a blatant ripoff of WCW WarGames, which is also a match type in NXT.
The Jericho Appreciation Society came out dressed in all red. Unfortunately, the BCC did not come out dressed in all blue to antagonize them with crip colors. According to Taz, fans were chanting for Wheeler Yuta during the break.
It showed as they went wild for him when it was his turn. Claudio Castagnoli and Jake Hager are former tag team partners, and their showdown was extremely heated. There were even “we the people” chants.
Daniel Garcia was the first person to be busted open in this match, and based on the match’s name, it’s safe to assume he won’t be the last. BCC dominated this match early. Poor Angelo Parker walked in, while his teammates were laid out, to chants of “you f—ked up!” Eddie Kingston, who might have been the most over man in this match, was the final entrant in Blood and Guts.
He started things off by casually whacking members of JAS with a kendo stick. Tay Conti and Chris Jericho had a hell of a time squeezing a bottle of rubbing alcohol through one of the cage holes despite the fact that referee Aubrey Edwards was standing right next to them. Ruby Soho’s friendship with Eddie Kingston was featured int he pre-match video package, and in the spirit of continuity, Ruby ran out to make the save as Tay Conti stole the key and tried to get in the cage.
One day after the 24-year anniversary of Mick Foley’s Hell in a Cell bump, many of the combatants went to the top of the padded cell. Sammy Guevara was the first to go flying off the cell. This match ended when Claudio Castagnoli made Daddy Magic Matt Menard tap out.
Eddie Kingston had Jericho in a submission as well, so he was furious when Claudio got the win, adding to their tension stemming from Forbidden Door. This was an insane match that delivered on its lofty promise to be a bloody, violent match.
