The video shows the boy clinging to the windshield of the small grey hatchback as a woman drives through the streets of Pakenham in the city’s south-east on Sunday.
The boy even endures the jolt of traversing a speed bump before climbing back into the vehicle through the sunroof. ‘He shouldn’t be doing it, he’s hanging out the windscreen for God’s sake,’ the angry man fumed as the woman tries to defend her reckless actions. ‘What if you run him over – do you think that’s smart? ‘If he falls off and he goes under those wheels, he’s dead, mate. ‘ Another witness claimed that she earlier saw two children on the car’s sunroof.
‘I felt sorry for the children and I knew they were at risk because if she hit the brakes. he could have easily have slid off the bonnet and gone under the wheels and yeah, he wouldn’t be here today,’ the woman told Nine News. The terrifying footage has gone viral online.
Victoria Police have confirmed that they’re investigating reports of an ‘unrestrained child’ on the bonnet. No charges have yet been laid.
