Propstore Christopher Reeve’s complete Superman outfit, one of the most iconic and identifiable costumes in movie history, is going up for auction in London. It’s expected to sell for between $287,270 and $574,540 – £250,000 to £500,000. The piece is the headline item in the Propstore sale which will see over 1,5000 lots go under the hammer in the four-day Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction , which kicks off on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

It runs through to Sunday, November 6, 2022. The auction is expected to make more than $12. 6 million (£11 million).

The sale is a treasure trove of treats for movie and TV lovers with some disposable income and boasts offerings from a wide range of films and shows for a wide range of budgets. Other big ticket lots include screen-matched Darth Vader gloves, worn by the late Dave Prowse, from Star Wars: A New Hope . They have an estimate of $172,362 to $287,270 (£150,000 to £250,000).

A book seen on the big screen that is likely to attract interest is Tim Robbins’ screen-matched Rockhammer Bible from The Shawshank Redemption .
