Conor McGregor’s year in review: From horror bike accident to Gardai investigation, sexual assault allegations and birth of fourth child

It was another busy year for Conor McGregor despite not returning to MMA action in 2023. The year started with McGregor having a brush with death as he was knocked off his bike while cycling on the country roads near his luxurious Kildare home. And despite being the biggest name in all of MMA, McGregor did not step foot inside the octagon.

Dana White had announced a bout between the Dubliner and Michael Chandler back in February but it has yet to materialise. It was still a busy year for McGregor as he welcomed his fourth child, sponsored both of Katie Taylor’s fights against Chantelle Cameron, partied with legendary artists Snoop Dogg and Chris Brown, and filmed scenes alongside Jake Gyllenhaal for the remake of ‘RoadHouse’. McGregor also had his fair share of philanthropy and charitable donations, giving large sums of money to both American and Irish charities over the previous 12 months.

But there were also legal issues for the UFC star, from dangerous driving cases to sexual assault allegations. McGregor was forced to deny allegations he assaulted a woman on his multi-million euro yacht in January and then was forced to deny sexual assault allegations at an NBA game in June. Here is McGregor’s year in review.
