Photo by Ottawa Fire Service / Supplied Article content Ottawa firefighters were able to save a number of dirt bikes, a four-wheeler vehicle and other goods in a garage fire in Osgoode Thursday night. A resident of Owen Street in the rural south end community called 911 just before 8 p.

m. to report their detached 16 feet by 20 feet garage was on fire. The caller also warned there were gas cans inside the structure.

Article content On arrival, firefighters found the structure filled with smoke, with flames visible. Responders first cut a hole in the garage door to allow them to spray water inside before making entry. Firefighters determined that most of the flames were in the attic.

They were able to contain the flames to the attic and extinguish them, bringing the fire under control 14 minutes after arriving on scene. All the dirt bikes and the four wheeler were saved. There were no reports of injuries.
