Got it! Jul 7, 2022, 09:04am EDT | Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin LetMeSoloHer FromSoftware I have enjoyed few things more this year than the legendary tale of LetMeSoloHer, the Elden Ring player who became immortalized with the following story on reddit close to the game’s launch three months ago. For those who forget, here’s the original post that started it all: “After 20-30 Malenia attempts and getting to ~15% several times, I finally decided I would try summoning and bumrushing with 2 others and just getting it done. So I popped the finger remedy and approached the first sign i could see.

It was a man, wearing nothing but a jar on his head, holding 2 katanas, named “let me solo her” I considered against it. But I was curious, and who am I to deny him his wish? The man took no damage except from some rot on the flower attack. He was flawless, and put all my attempts to shame.

I definitely didn’t kill Malenia, but either way, she is dead. Thank you kind stranger, even if you’ll never see this message. ” From there, the post went viral, and LetMeSoloHer became a community legend, the subject of tributes, cosplay and fan art, and as iconic as any actual character from the game itself.

Well, they did not remain a mystery forever, as eventually LetMeSoloHer was revealed to be KleinTsuboi, who is normally, of all things, an Overwatch player. They claimed credit as the hero, and all the hundreds of people they helped. Klein posted a series of photos that showed him a care package from Bandai Namco, which included an actual sword (albeit not the katanas that he uses in the game): I believe the 1K shown there is for 1K Malenia kills, meaning the number of people he’s helped beat arguable Elden Ring’s toughest boss. While I sort of liked the period when LetMeSoloHer was a mystical figure rather than an actual person, it’s still cool to see Klein honored like this, as lord knows he deserves it for all that hard work. They’ve embraced the meme and become a valuable part of the Elden Ring community.

I’d be shocked if we didn’t see some sort of in-game reference to them in a future FromSoftware game, at this point. As for Elden Ring itself, it’s back in the news as people debate whether or not it or God of War Ragnarok will win Game of the Year, now that GoW has an actually release date in 2022, putting the two in direct competition. And I still expect to hear about DLC in the next few months here.
