Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Star Wars Lucasfilm Fortnite has done plenty of Star Wars crossovers in the past, but through it all, the central trio has escaped them, Luke, Han and Leia. But one piece of that is about to change. New leaks suggest that there will be a Fortnite X Star Wars crossover this season, which will bring both Luke Skywalker into the game, along with two of his lightsabers.

The crossover was hinted at in the season’s cinematic trailer, which seemed like it may haven shown Luke floating in a bacta tank. Now, Fortnite leaker HypeX says that was indeed a teaser of what’s to come: Luke Skywalker will join the rest of Fortnite’s Star Wars skins, most of which have been tied to past Disney movies or TV shows. But that won’t be true this time, as there’s nothing coming out of Disney during this season that connects to Luke directly.

We’re not expecting to see him in Andor, for instance, currently airing weekly on Disney Plus. Here are the other Star Wars skins in Fortnite right now: The Mandalorian (with Baby Yoda) Zorii Bliss Kylo Ren Finn Rey Sith Trooper Stormtrooper Boba Fett Darth Vader Obi-Wan Kenobi MORE FOR YOU ‘Demon Slayer’ Season 2 Finally Has An Actual 2021 Release Date Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Not A Sure Thing, Says Director ‘Genshin Impact’ Still Refuses To Increase Anniversary Rewards, Despite Fan Outcry But again, Fortnite is missing most of the key icons from the original. If Luke Skywalker joins, that still leaves Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO, Lando Calrissian and The Emperor, to name a few.

We could head back to the prequels for Anakin Skywalker, Padme, Qui-Gon and Darth Maul. I expect we’ll see an Ahsoka skin once that series comes to Disney Plus. So even as Fortnite feels like it’s done every crossover ever, there’s still a good amount of Star Wars left to mine.

Specifically, if Luke is here, I imagine Han and Leia aren’t far behind. Fortnite’s grand collection IP is central to its metaverse ambitions. It’s recently made investments in companies to try to expand beyond its instance 100 player maps into larger territory, so we’ll see if anything comes of that.

As for Star Wars itself, Andor has gotten good reviews from critics as a more grounded approach to Star Wars. And I kind of am guessing this grounded approach may mean…no Fortnite crossover skins, as much as I might want to play as Diego Luna. We don’t know exactly when this Luke Skywalker event is happening, but it’s probably a few weeks away at the very least.
