Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin God of War Ragnarok Sony Now that review scores have settled, we can see where God of War Ragnarok stands in the larger pantheon of game releases this console generation. And no surprise, its 94 score, tied with the first game, puts it nearly at the top. Currently, God of War Ragnarok is the second highest scoring game of the PS5 and Xbox Series generation.

It would be lower if you include the Switch, but I’d consider that technically a last gen system that Nintendo is still just…selling tons of. But between PS5 and Xbox Series X, here’s how the current list breaks down. And I think you probably can guess what’s number one: 1.

Elden Ring – 96 (PS5 and Xbox Series X) 2. God of War Ragnarok – 94 (PS5) 3. Hades – 93 (PS5 and Xbox Series X).

4. Persona 5 Royal – 92 (PS5 and Xbox Series X) 5. Forza Horizon 5 – 92 (Xbox Series X) MORE FOR YOU $100M Magic: Why Bruno Mars And Other Stars Are Ditching Their Managers China’s 20th Party Congress and Critical Implications For US-Sino Economic Relations Rolling Into 2023 With 11% Dividends 6.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe – 91 (PS5 and Xbox Series X) 7. Rogue Legacy 2 – 90 (Xbox Series X) 8. Microsoft Flight Simulator – 90 (Xbox Series X) 9.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 – 90 (PS5 and Xbox Series X) 10. It Takes Two – 89 (PS5 and Xbox Series X) 11 Deathloop – 89 (PS5 and Xbox Series X) 12. The Last of Us Part I Remaster – 88 (PS5) 13.

Horizon Forbidden West – 88 (PS5) 14. Immortality – 88 (Xbox Series X) For games with copies on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, I averaged the scores, or if they were one point off, gave it to the higher one. Forza Horizon 5 MS As some have noted, Xbox has had a number of high Metacritic scoring releases, hence why they were Metacritic’s publisher of the year back in 2021.

Forza continues to be an incredibly strong series for Xbox, it’s strongest, in fact, though we’ll see if that changes if Starfield comes along and blows everyone away. But this winter, certainly, there is nothing on the Xbox side to match God of War Ragnarok. Both consoles, of course, have access to Elden Ring, even if Sony generally has a closer relationship with FromSoft.

It wasn’t a Bloodborne situation this time around. The God of War scores are extremely impressive. With more and more critical outlets submitting reviews these days, it gets harder and harder to ever break into the mid to high 90s, as just a few outliers can sink you.

It’s why we’ll probably never see another Ocarina of Time 99 score again. But yes, I’m sure Sony is thrilled with how Ragnarok has been received. Follow me on Twitter , YouTube , Facebook and Instagram .
