Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Overwatch 2 hero Kiriko Blizzard Entertainment Blizzard is still working hard to resolve some of the major Overwatch 2 launch issues, and it just provided another update on where things are at. One thing worth noting from the jump: there will be some more downtime this evening. Overwatch 2 will go offline at 9PM ET so Blizzard can implement some fixes.

It expects this downtime to last for around one hour. So, make sure you’re not in the middle of a Competitive game when Blizzard pulls the plug temporarily. Blizzard also took the game offline for a total of around four hours across two periods.

The fixes that the company employed during that time addressed account merge and login bugs. It also quadrupled capacity, which led to reduced queue times overnight. Queue times were much longer again on Friday morning for me, though. Getting back in on Friday afternoon took me around 20 minutes. “Early signs are good, the database looks healthy, but we will be constantly monitoring it. Weekend gamer hours will be its biggest test yet. ” I couldn’t get into Overwatch 2 on console at all last night, and I didn’t get a chance to try again today.

I saw an LC-208 error code on both PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Blizzard said that this issue is preventing login. A fix is going out during tonight’s downtime that will hopefully resolve that problem.

Also on the console front, some players who bought the Watchpoint Pack may not be seeing the items from it in their collection. This issue has emerged on Xbox, but it seems more prevalent on PlayStation. Blizzard has a fix for this as well, which it will implement during tonight’s downtime.

Elsewhere, Blizzard is getting through the account merge backlog and it thinks it has found a fix for the overall account merging issues. Some folks who merged their accounts should now see all their skins, stats, cosmetics and everything else. As a reminder, your stuff isn’t gone, but it might take a while longer before your accounts are merged.

The account merge queue could get longer, as Blizzard expects more people to log in to Overwatch 2 for the first time over the weekend. However, with the increased database capacity, it should be able to get through merges a bit faster. Developing.
