A mini-driver was called out for ending up in the Calstock River just two weeks after three Audi-driving tourists were berated by locals for deciding to park on the sand . Teenager Freyja Pither, from St Dominick, Cornwall, was rowing down the river yesterday when she spotted the oddly positioned car.

The 17-year-old suggested the motorist could have possibly ended up in the water by mistakenly travelling down a private slipway. Her mother Louise said that while most tourists are ‘fine’, there are a few ‘entitled idiots’. ‘I don’t know the back story for sure but there is a small private slipway in that area which probably had something to do with it,’ Freyja said. ‘When it was spotted, the windscreen wipers were ironically still going! ‘I’d imagine though it was an emmet, Cornish slang for tourist, because us locals know the river! It was amusing to say the least! She added: ‘Can’t say anyone was surprised as we have had multiple cars stuck on beaches or swamped.
