Jordan Skachill went on a criminal spree which saw him swipe 14 vehicles, including Range Rovers, Land Rovers and an Audi, from the streets of Edinburgh , which he then sold on for his own financial gain. The 28-year-old also broke into three people’s homes and stole personal and sentimental items, which he also flogged for his own profit, and committed a number of road traffic offences between March 2021 and April 2022. The culprit jumped out a window and climbed up the drainpipe to reach the roof, where he remained, refusing to come down. More than 30 police officers, fire engines and an ambulance surrounded the property and waited below for six hours until Skachill finally surrendered. Officers were later able to recover some of the cars and stolen items.

On Friday, November 18, Skachill pleaded guilty to 21 theft charges at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. On Thursday, December 8, at the same court, the dad-of-one was caged for 40 months. Detective Sergeant Craig McMillan said: “Skachill cares little for the people he has stolen from.

He cares little for the hurt and harm he has caused. All he is concerned about is himself and what he can get out of it.
