Ollie Barder With Armored Core VI finally released, I thought I would share some of my tips for those looking to play the game and aren’t sure where to start. Shoulder Shields Are Very Helpful When You Are Starting Out These are updated in Armored Core VI and can actually block out a lot of damage. If you are a new player, you may want to try and use one.
Energy Shields Are Vulnerbale To Pulse Weapons Some enemies can use spherical energy shields that need to be depleted before you do damage to them. Pulse weapons are good are wearing those down pretty quickly. Spend Your OS Chips On Damage And Defense Modifiers Seriously, this makes a big difference to how much damage you can deal and mitigating a lot of damage.
Like the classic Optional Parts setup from the older Armored Core games, you can reassign your OS Chips in OS Tuning as well. Although this time it costs a chunk of cash to do so. Training Missions Give Some Decent Parts Early On Do all the training missions from the start.
You get some decent parts that you will use throughout the campaign and they actually give some helpful advice too. The cash you get from that can give you more funds to buy the parts you need.
Plasma Missiles Are Very Handy These are energy missiles that do a minor area effect explosion on contact. As most enemies are vulnerable to energy type attacks, plasma missiles are great at doing damage. My personal recommendation would be to use the vertical plasma missiles, unless you are in an enclosed space and regular missiles (that fire forward rather than up) are more suitable.
One final thing is to avoid using Repair Kits unless you really have to. These will lower your mission rank when you replay a mission and can become a crutch early on. You always get a resupply before a boss fight, so pace yourself and use those instead.
Armored Core VI is now available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. If you are at all curious about the game, then feel free to read my review . Follow me on Twitter , Facebook and YouTube .
