Disney/Lucasfilm His Disney+ series might have ended, but Obi-Wan Kenobi is still the subject of fierce debate, as a new spin-off novel that explores the Jedi’s teenage years sparked speculation about his sexuality. A single scene from Padawan , written by Kiersten White, sees Obi-Wan open to the idea of kissing another boy, musing on his own sexual desires.

Other than confirming that Obi-Wan is open to kissing a dude, the scene is fairly ambiguous; Obi-Wan comes across as a pious little Jedi who doesn’t seem particularly interested in sex. Some fans took this to mean that Obi-Wan might be outright asexual, while others proposed he is bisexual. MORE FOR YOU Which Vaccines Will Work When Entering The U.

He never seems to stop caring for Anakin, even after his transformation (it goes without saying that the two are often shipped together in fan art and fiction). Regardless, expecting all the inhabitants of Star Wars to be straight is incredibly reductive; the galaxy is a vast place, packed with different species who presumably want to bone each other, armed with a wide array of sex organs and gender roles (again, this is an idea explored by fan art).

In the retro-futurist fantasy past of Star Wars , open-mindedness to sex makes more sense than not – Solo already confirmed that sex between droids and humans happens.
