Got it! The lengthy spot keeps the same groups together, mostly. Hopper and Joyce appear to still be in Russia, dealing with the captive/escaped Upside Down monsters there.

The kids are still in their respective groups, and fans worried about the health of Steve should be reassured that he looks okay. Eleven is probably seen the least of anyone, and while she’s not shown reuniting with her friends, she appears to make her way to the famous Vecna house in the Upside Down, as shown in the last shot of the trailer. There’s are more granular moments to dissect as well.

It appears that Nancy may be the next group member to get sucked into a Freddy Krueger-like Vecna nightmare, as it appears she’s somehow transported to the hospital where One killed everyone before he transformed, and I’m not sure why she’d be there otherwise. We also now have a look at Eddie’s “guitar moment” that his actor has teased in interviews. My guess is that since Vecna is weak to music, a plan will involve using the power of rock and roll to weaken or damage him, though it will no doubt be up to Eleven to strike the final blow.

Netflix There are less violent moments too, like Will giving Mike a hug. The Duffer Bros. have implied that questions about Will’s sexuality may be answered in this final stretch of two episodes, and I mean, I think we already know the answer there, but I’m curious how that will be handled.

If these episodes look epic, it’s because they’re supposed to be. Episode 8 is 90 minutes and Episode 9 is two and a half hours, full Avengers-length, featuring more digital FX than the entirety of season 3 by itself. And again, some people think this is the series finale of Stranger Things, given the massive scale of it, but it’s still coming back for season 5, and the Duffer Bros.

have not yet said when they’ll be even starting production on that yet. It’s a really, really great trailer, using, what else, Running Up that Hill as the main thread running to it, and I’m not kidding, I did actually get chills by the end. I wouldn’t have used that headline if I hadn’t! Anyway, just under two more weeks now.
