THACKERVILLE, Okla. — An Oklahoma ranch north of Dallas-Fort Worth owned by NFL Hall of Famer and Fox Sports analyst Terry Bradshaw is back on the market for $22. 5 million after a deal with a would-be buyer was ruled an incompletion.
The 744-acre ranch roughly 70 miles north of Dallas-Fort Worth has been re-listed after a deal with a potential buyer fell through, said Bernie Uechtritz, owner of Dallas-based real estate agency Icon Global Group. Bradshaw and his wife, Tammy, have made their home on the working ranch overlooking the Red River for years, and it has also served as a showcase and the filming location for the E! television series The Bradshaw Bunch . The decision to sell the spread has been an on-again-off-again struggle for the Bradshaws.
But they have recently moved to their new home on a smaller farm in Texas, where they will continue the Bradshaw Quarter Horse business utilizing prized stallions along with about 30 mares. “Tammy and I are both sad to leave this great big ranch and our wonderful home, which has been our idyllic retreat of so many years,” Bradshaw said in a statement released by Icon Global. “However, it is time that we slowed down a little, freeing us up to travel more as well as enjoy new grandchildren, family, and other interests.
” The cancellation of the purchase of the ranch just east of Thackeray, Oklahoma, followed a series of contract extensions and repeated assurances from the would-be buyer and their representatives that the deal would close, Uechtritz said. “The buyer sadly failed to follow through, perform, fund and close the transaction,” he said. “So as of today, the entire ranch is back on the market, and it’s now not a matter of if it will sell, but to whom.
” The ranch in Love County, Oklahoma, has been up for sale for more than five years. The property and facilities are a turnkey-ready opportunity for a major equestrian player in the horse business or can continue to be used as a cattle or private recreational ranch, Uechtritz added. Uechtritz said he and the Bradshaws have been “inundated” with requests to sell and received “great offers” through the years.
“It has taken Terry and Tammy some time to finally make the decision to let go of their much-loved ranch, which Terry built over decades from the ground up,” Uechtritz said. Some 150 world-class and award-winning Bradshaw Quarter Horses are also scheduled to be sold to the highest bidders on Oct. 22 in a dispersal sale facilitated through the Superior Livestock Auction Co.
, Uechtritz said. The Bradshaws” equine breeding facility, cattle and recreational ranch in Thackeray will continue operating until it’s sold and a new owner takes over. The property includes paved roads, a large estate home and several stocked fishing lakes and ponds.
It is “highly improved,” with breeding sales, horse care and livestock infrastructure as well as significant and recent improvements such as new managerial and staff housing, new fencing, a reproduction laboratory and other assets, Uechtritz said. Other highlights include the 8,600-square-foot, rustic-style main home with six bedrooms and eight baths, tall ceilings throughout, four big brick and stone fireplaces, wood and tiled floors and wood paneling. An outdoor patio covers about 1,000 square feet and has a full kitchen, bar, fireplace, hot sauna and fire pit.
The property also features a large outdoor pool and an oversized stone doghouse with a fenced area for the dogs to have room to roam. There are eight lakes or ponds on the property, a 12-stallion barn, a 20-stall show barn, and a 50-stall mare barn with a laboratory, state-of-the-art breeding facility and office.
