Got it! Jul 2, 2022, 12:00am EDT | Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Here’s today’s Wordle #378 answer plus a helpful hint. In Pictures via Getty Images July is here which means we’re officially past the halfway point for 2022. What a year it’s been! Looking back over the last six months, I can honestly say that Wordle has been one of the few silver linings to a pretty rough year.
I’m still feeling a bit lethargic and worn down from my June bout with COVID-19. Inflation is insane. The war in the Ukraine continues with no signs of stopping (and we continue to involve ourselves in that conflict with no signs of stopping).
It’s all a bit exhausting if you ask me. Thank the gods for gaming, whether that’s Elden Ring, Call Of Duty, Mario Kart 8 or Wordle. The latter is why we’re here today, of course.
Today’s is a right doozy of a word, too. Let’s take a look, shall we? How To Play Wordle If you’re a little bit behind the curve, check out my explainer on how to play Wordle right here . I also have a tips & tricks guide here .

Credit: Erik Kain I started things off with roman because it’s July, a month named in honor of one of the most famous Roman leaders of all time, Julius Caesar, though his rule came before the Roman Republic officially became an Empire. Caesar took power from the feckless Senate after waging a civil war against his chief rival, Pompey. A popular general and prolific historian, he only ruled as dictator for a few years before he was assassinated.
It was Caesar’s great-nephew, Octavian—later called Augustus—who later emerged as the first, and one of the greatest, Roman emperors. But I digress. Roman, however appropriate, only cut my remaining solutions down to 206—an unlucky outcome.
According to Wordle Bot, from here I should have guessed suite but at least chirp reduced the remaining possibilities to 50. Burst would have been one of Wordle Bot’s top picks and, in fact, cut my remaining possible solutions down to just 1. One very, very difficult remaining solution as it happens.
I had to think long and hard before I stumbled upon egret, which is a type of white heron but can also refer to fashion that utilizes feathers. Still, I got there in four so I feel pretty good about that. I just need to remember words like suite and guest for future Wordles! I hope you’re having a lovely July weekend, dearest Wordlers.
