’ Road closures remained in place around the murder scene yesterday as forensics teams returned to comb the street for evidence. Webley was jailed for 11 years in 2005 for attempted murder. The then 19-year-old had shot former kickboxer Peter Simpson, 45, in the back in a gangland-style ambush in the Granton area.

After his release, Webley was jailed again for six months for trying to intimidate a man into handing over £1,000 at a garage. In October 2022, he was cleared of two charges of attempted murder after being accused of trying to ram a car off the road. Ms Park, from Edinburgh, posted a picture of the pair hugging, although the couple split before Christmas .
