Netflix has reportedly shown interest again in a Will Smith biopic (Picture: Getty / Netflix ) It has been claimed Will Smith is ‘back in talks with Netflix’ to produce a tell-all biopic of his life four months after he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. The I Am Legend star reportedly saw projects, including Apple film Emancipation and the latest installment of hit action franchise Bad Boys, stalled following the incident. But streaming giant Netflix is now looking to ‘move ahead’ with a film about The Fresh Prince of Bel Air actor’s life, with an insider revealing negotiations could be resumed.
They said: ‘Will was left out in the cold by Netflix and Apple+ in the wake of the slap. ‘He has since apologised and stepped out of the spotlight for a lengthy period. With this in mind it is broadly agreed enough time has passed to let the dust settle.
’ The source told The Sun it has been ‘made clear’ that discussions can be started again, while the project may even include a retelling of the slap. ’ Reports of the talks comes after Will, who won the Oscar for his role in King Richard, issued a groveling apology to the comedian. In a candid video, the Men in Black actor addressed the incident, apologising to all those impacted, including his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and their family. He said: ‘So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you.
