Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin It’s that time of year again when the trade (retailers and editors) plan their trek to Las Vegas to see the newest trends, hottest items and most promising fresh talents in jewelry during the Couture show (June 1-4, 2023) Here is a preview of evolving concepts and brand new pieces from a sampling of designers showing at Couture: What pieces will you bet on to be the winning styles and which are the ones you will want to own and wear? Artistic Endeavors Venyx World x Le Sibille ’s 18K gold Karya Micro Mosaic Necklace with diamond accents: The piece is a homage to the technique of tesserae micro-mosaics—many of these types of pieces were collected during the 19th century’s European Grand Tour and depicted famous monuments and scenes, indigenous to Rome and Florence.

This pendant features a “modern postcard for today’s Grand Tourists,” says Creative Director Eugenie Niarchos of Venyx World. The subjects of micro mosaics are traditionally shown from the front and centered in the image. In contrast, Niarchos has chosen to give this an innovative touch, changing the perspective where the viewer seems to be standing under the palm trees with a backdrop of a starry night sky, gazing upwards through the foliage.

The hand-crafted necklace was made in collaboration with the Le Sibille in Rome, which has been at the heart of reviving this ancient technique for over three decades. It is a hand-painted mother of pearl and an iconic symbol of luck, realized in Maccieri Rossi’s distinctive sensibility.

Her collection has evolved into more dimensional pieces, intricate placement of stones, vivid colorways, the unexpected juxtaposition of contrasting colorways, and a mix of different cuts of hardstone for inlay, faceted gems and cabochons.
