Propstore A highly sought-after Holy Grail item for Star Wars fans and collectors is going under the hammer at auction in London. A screen-matched light-up C-3PO head from Star Wars: A New Hope is the jewel in the crown of the Propstore auction and is expected to sell for between $575,000 and $1,150,000 (£500,000 to £1,000,000). It’s part of a collection currently owned by the actor who played the iconic droid, Anthony Daniels, but will hopefully find a new home during the sale, which will be spread over four days in November.

“I’m thrilled that Propstore has agreed to curate my collection, and I trust that the pieces will go into the right hands,” the actor, the longest-serving cast member of the series, said in a statement. “I hope this can bring pleasure to Star Wars fans and collectors all around the world and give them a chance to own a piece of the real thing. ” The C-3PO helmet up for auction as it was seen in the original 1977 film.

Propstore Stephen Lane, Founder and CEO of Propstore, added that it was “a huge privilege to be offering such a remarkable collection from a true Star Wars legend. ” The collection also includes several quirky items such as a pair of C-3PO fingers from Star Wars: A New Hope , which have a guide price of $4,000 to $11,500 (£5,000 to £10,000), an unopened C-3PO’s cereal box that could fetch $410 to $820 (£500 to £1,000) and Daniel’s handwritten Ewok Village speech page from Star Wars: Return of the the Jedi . That will likely set someone back $1,230 to $2,460 (£1,500 to £3,000).

Among the items up for grabs is the Director’s Chair that Harrison Ford sat on it between scenes on set. It is expected to sell for between $11,500 and $23,000 (£10,000 to £20,000).

The collection, consigned by Blade Runner archivist Geoff Hutchins, also includes costume designer Charles Knode’s personal costume bible and continuity script. It has an estimated sale price of $34,500 to $69,000 (£30,000 to £60,000). Another top-dollar item at the auction is Freddy Krueger’s screen-matched hero metal glove armature from A Nightmare on Elm Street , complete with the hand-drawn schematic.

Elsewhere, Stanley Kubrick’s hand-annotated shooting script from The Shining will go under the hammer with a price tag of $34,500 to $69,000 (£30,000 to £60,000). There are over 1,800 lots that will feature over the four days, with an estimated total value of over $13. 8 million (£12 million).
