Police believe that the arson attacks committed in the early hours of Sunday (March 19) are linked with those that happened overnight last weekend (March 12). Police received a call reporting two vehicles on fire in Shortfen at 2am on March 19. It is believed a white van was initially set alight, before the fire spread to a second van nearby.

Three minutes later, police received another call reporting that a Vauxhall Insignia was on fire in Bodesway. Police believe that these incidents are linked to last week’s arson attacks. Read next: Police searching for man wanted on recall with links to Cambridge On the morning of March 13, a fire was reported just after midnight in Cheyney Court sheltered accommodation at Orton Malborne where there were some evacuations but no one was injured.

Five cars outside were also ablaze and destroyed. A couple of hours earlier, at about 10. 30pm, two vehicles were set alight – one in Saltmarsh, Orton Malborne, and another in The Village, Orton Longueville.
