(Photo by Scott Taetsch/Getty Images) Getty Images David Morrell has only had seven pro fights, but he’s already good enough (or exciting enough) to be headlining major TV cards against undefeated opponents.

On Saturday, though, Aidos Yerbossynuly vows to give Morrell the first loss of his career. Here’s everything you need to know about David Morrell vs. Aidos Yerbossynuly, including the odds, their records and a prediction on who will win.

After an outstanding Cuban amateur career, Morrell has made waves in the professional boxing world, particularly by scoring impressive knockouts on nationally televised Fox events. That kind of mainstream attention so early in his career has seemingly increased his confidence about what kind of damage he can put on his opponents. “I feel bad for Aidos,” Morrell said this week.

“He has no idea what’s going on and he doesn’t know anything about boxing history. I’m going to teach him on fight night. I’m taking him to school.

He has it coming. ” While it’s true Yerbossynuly doesn’t have the name recognition of Morrell and while his opponents haven’t been on the same level of the opposition that Morrell has faced, Yerbossynuly thinks his extracurricular activities will help him in the ring. “I’m a hunter.

I like hunting and it’s part of our culture,” Yerbossynuly said. “It’s hunting season right now in Kazakhstan, but I’m here in the United States and I’m here to hunt Morrell on Saturday night. “There is nothing about David Morrell Jr. that concerns me,” Yerbossynuly said. “The danger with boxing is that every fighter is coming to hurt you.

Every boxer is dangerous. There’s nothing special about him. I think that we are evenly matched fighters but the difference on Saturday night is going to be that I’m the smarter fighter and I want it more.

” Both fighters have talked about wanting to face David Benavidez at some point soon. It remains to be seen whether Yerbossynuly would truly be the best test to prepare Morrell for one of the best super middleweights in the world. But another stoppage win against an undefeated opponent probably wouldn’t hurt either.

“My only focus right now is on Aidos,” Morrell said. “I’m not paying attention to any other fighters, but I’m going to be ready for them. I want to fight David Benavidez in my next fight.

I respect everyone in the division, but I’m hungry for the biggest fights. I want to fight everybody. ” Here’s more info on the David Morrell vs.

Aidos Yerbossynuly showdown that U. S. viewers can watch on Showtime beginning at 9:10 p.

m. ET on Saturday. David Morrell, left, faces off against Aidos Yerbossynuly in what should be an interesting showdown .

. . [+] on Saturday night.

Esther Lin/Showtime David Morrell vs. Aidos Yerbossynuly odds Considering Yerbossynuly is a virtual unknown, it should not be surprising that Morrell is a -1000 betting favorite (wager $1,000 to win $100) while Yerbossynuly is a +600 underdog (win $600 on a $100 bet). You should skip both money lines and perhaps go with Morrell to win by stoppage at -150 or for Morrell to win by stoppage in rounds 1-6 at +250.

If you really like Yerbossynuly to pull off the upset, you can get him to win by decision at +1400. If you were looking for a fun parlay for this weekend’s action of boxing (and this is only for entertainment purposes), I might take Morrell to KO/TKO Yerbossynuly at -150, Dmitry Bivol to beat Zurdo Ramirez by decision at -200 and Jessica McCaskill to beat Chantelle Cameron at +125. That would pay you a profit of $462 on a $100 wager.

David Morrell vs. Aidos Yerbossynuly records Morrell’s last five opponents have a combined record of 108-6-4. Considering this is only Morrell’s eighth pro fight, that’s outstanding.

On his way to his 7-0 (6 KOs) record, Morrell has knocked off and knocked out solid opponents like Alantez Fox, Mario Cazares and Lennox Allen. Like Morrell, Yerbossynuly (16-0, 11 KOs) has beaten Lennox Allen. While Allen is the only fighter to take Morrell the distance, Yerbossynuly stopped him in the 10 th round 14 months ago.

So, that’s one point in favor of Yerbossynuly. Otherwise, Yerbossynuly has fought mostly in Asia and Eastern Europe, and most of his opponents are unknown in the U. S.

So, it’s fairly hard to tell just how well Yerbossynuly can perform. David Morrell vs. Aidos Yerbossynuly prediction Yerbossynuly has never fought under so much scrutiny.

Morrell has basically done so since the beginning of his pro career. I’m not sure Morrell is a special talent or a future world champion, but I certainly think he’s closer to one than Yerbossynuly. I say Morrell wins by stoppage in the sixth round.
