Got it! Jun 28, 2022, 08:00am EDT | Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Here’s everything we know, and everything we can guess, about next month’s PlayStation Plus lineup. Credit: Sony It’s almost that time of the month again. This week, Sony will reveal next month’s free PlayStation Plus games for the basic PS Plus Essential tier.
There are now three tiers: PS Plus Essential is the basic level, granting you access to online gaming and the handful of free games each month as well as special deals and goodies for various games. This tier costs $9. 99/month or $59.
99/year. PS Plus Extra gets you all of that plus a bunch of other PS4 and PS5 games similar to Xbox Game Pass for $14. 99/month or $99.
99/year. PS Plus Premium is all of the above plus special game trials and a classic catalog of PS1, PS2, PSP and PS3 games. You also get cloud streaming.
This costs $17. 99/month or $119. 99/year.
For the purposes of this post, we’ll be looking at the games headed to PS Plus Essential in July, though all three tiers will gain access to them on July 5th. PS Plus July 2022 Leaks & Rumors There haven’t been may leaks for PS Plus in recent months, but that all changed this past weekend when a reliable leaker posted the three July titles . The list sounds legit, but since it’s a leak and not an official announcement, you should take it with a grain of salt.

Crash Bandicoot 4 has been out for a while, and it’s a nice premium AAA platformer that should make lots of subscribers happy. Arcadegeddon is a multiplayer shooter that actually releases on July 5th, the day these PS Plus titles go live, so that definitely fits.
The only weird entry is The Dark Pictures: Man Of Medan which is already offered for free for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. I guess sometimes that’s bound to happen. Beyond this leak there are no rumors to speak of, so we’ll leave it at that.
PS Plus July 2022 Predictions I typically write up predictions when there are no credible leaks and since we have a very credible leak it may be pointless at this point. I am curious, however, to see what Sony adds to the Extra and Premium tiers in July. These catalogs will see games come and go halfway through each month.
So now there will be the PS Plus Essential games on the first Tuesday of each month, and another wave of new additions two weeks later. Games will also leave these services—the Essential lineup each month and other titles later on. For instance, games leaving PS Plus “soon” include all of June’s excellent games , plus: PS Plus Premium Titles Red Dead Redemption (PS3) — Leaving in October Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare (PS3) — Leaving in October PS Plus Extra Titles Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4) — Leaving in September NBA 2K22 (PS5/PS4) — Leaving in August WRC 10 FIA World Rally Championship (PS4/PS5) — Leaving in August Shadow Warrior 3 (PS4) — Leaving in July Stray Credit: Blue Twelve Studio Meanwhile, we know of one game coming to the Extra/Premium tiers that isn’t coming to regular old PS Plus Essential.
Stray is the first new game to hit these higher PlayStation Plus tiers and not be available to subscribers at the base Essential level. The game from Blue Twelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive is a “third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed, neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. ” Which, let’s face it, sounds pretty damn cool.
Almost cool enough to get me to subscribe to PS Plus Premium for a year (which would also be a great excuse to play a bunch of old PS2 games I dearly miss). We’ll know if the above leaks are accurate this Wednesday and we’ll find out more about July’s Extra/Premium titles later this month.
