Universal Studios Hollywood An original set from director Jordan Peele’s Nope , one of the year’s most anticipated movies, has been reconstructed and added as a new attraction on the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood. From Friday, July 22, 2022, the same day the horror lands in theaters, guests will be able to experience Jupiter’s Claim, the fictional theme park featured in the movie set in Southern California’s Santa Clarita Valley. It’s a key location in the filmmaker’s latest nightmarish vision.
“I remember visiting Universal Studios when I was 12 years old and being mesmerized. That experience reinforced my passion and drive to someday join in on the meta-magic of ‘backlot life. ’ Since then, I’ve been fortunate enough to direct three movies for Universal,” Peele said in a statement.
“It is a privilege to honor these collaborations with my studio partners, crew members, and cast, and to be able to share Jupiter’s Claim with fans. ” Once the movie wrapped, the set, which is the work of acclaimed production designer Ruth DeJong, was taken apart bit by bit and, along with several original props, was transported to Universal Studios Hollywood and put back together again. The set will remain as a permanent attraction alongside the iconic Bates Motel and house from Psycho , Jaws , and the War of the Worlds plane crash set.

In 2019, the filmmaker and the creative team developed an Us maze as part of the annual Halloween Horror Nights event.
It featured recreated scenes from Peele’s sophomore feature, which grossed $255. 2 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of $20 million. The idea to add Jupiter’s Claim to the Studio Tour apparently started early in the production process with the filmmakers and Universal Creative at working together to make sure the end result was both accurate and authentic.
Peele has an exclusive film and television deal with Universal Pictures and Universal Studio Group. Nope , expected to be the summer’s biggest non-franchise movie at the box office, marks Peele’s third outing as director following Us and Get Out , which won him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.
