Which begs the question: What film do I watch? Hopefully I can help. Here I’ve compiled some of the most intriguing options available. And at the end of the article, you can find a full list of every new movie (and TV show) added to HBO this weekend.
The World’s End Gary King (Simon Pegg) is an immature 40-year-old who’s dying to take another stab at an epic pub-crawl that he last attempted 20 years earlier. He drags his reluctant buddies back to their hometown and sets out for a night of heavy drinking. As they make their way toward their ultimate destination — the fabled World’s End pub — Gary and his friends attempt to reconcile the past and present.
However, the real struggle is for the future when their journey turns into a battle for mankind. Warrior An estranged family finds redemption in the unlikeliest of places: the MMA ring. Tommy (Tom Hardy), an ex-Marine with a tragic past, returns home and enlists his father (Nick Nolte), a recovering alcoholic and former wrestling coach, to train him for “Sparta,” the biggest MMA tournament ever held.
But when Tommy’s underdog brother, Brendan (Joel Edgerton), fights his way into the tournament, the two brothers must finally confront each other and the forces that pulled them apart. Things quickly go wrong, however, dramatically affecting the trio and those around them. Niko Tatopoulos (Matthew Broderick), an expert on the effects of radiation on animals, is sent by the U. S. government to study the beast.
When the creature, dubbed “Godzilla” by news outlets, emerges, a massive battle with the military begins. To make matters worse, Niko discovers that Godzilla has laid a nest of 200 eggs, which are ready to hatch. After they lose everything, a mysterious billionaire (Robert Redford) offers the solution to their money problems: $1 million — if he can sleep with Diana.
Hollow Man After years of experimentation, brilliant but arrogant scientist Sebastian Caine has discovered a way to make matter invisible. Determined to achieve the ultimate breakthrough, Caine pushes his team to move to the next phase – using himself as the subject. The test is a success, but when the process can’t be reversed, Caine seems doomed to a future without flesh.
The Raid 2 After surviving a bloody fight with powerful gangsters, rookie Jakarta cop Rama (Iko Uwais) thinks he can resume a normal life. However, his exploits during that fateful incident have attracted the attention of criminals even more deadly than the last. His family at risk, Rama has no choice but to go under cover.
He gets himself thrown in prison, where he befriends the son of a prominent crime kingpin. Rama must lay his own life on the line to finally destroy the criminal empire.
