There are tons of perks that come with winning the NBA Finals MVP and your fourth NBA championship ring, being heavily featured in the NBA 2K23 first look trailer is just a small one. Golden State Warriors star, future Hall-of-Famer and legitimate all-time great Steph Curry is the guy enjoying the fruits of his labor.
Coming off the Warriors’ title at the end of the 2021-22 season, Curry’s trendsetting “night-night” celebration went viral and it has made its way into NBA 2K23. That sight, which you can see in the lead image and the trailer below, is one of the 10 things that stood out to me from the first look. Zach LaVine Rocking New Balance Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine signed a max deal ( five years, $215 million ) to remain in the Windy City.
It’s been a lucrative 5-month period for LaVine who also signed a multi-year deal to wear New Balance sneakers. The ever-energetic Poole got an updated render for NBA 2K23 with some signature animations/celebrations. The exact animation wasn’t in NBA 2K22, but it appears as though it will be in the game for NBA 2K23.
NBA 2K Credit: 2K Updated Jose Alvarado and Lonzo Ball Render The New Orleans Pelicans’ Jose Alvarado became a major fan favorite–at least in The Big Easy–last season and in the playoffs. Alvarado’s never-back-down approach seemed to symbolize the surprisingly scrappy Pels during the latter part of the regular season, through the play-in tournament and into the NBA Playoffs. Grand Theft Alvarado earned an updated likeness.

The Bulls’ fanbase and their front office hopes to see more of Ball on the floor after he finished the season injured and missed all of the postseason. Jabb Awoc Keez Hip Hop Dance Crew The NBA 2K series often switches out their halftime show dance feature.
They have had cheerleaders and teenage dance troupes. This year, the Jabb Awoc Keez make their series debut as they were featured a lot in the trailer. NBA 2K23 Credit: 2K Here is a look at some real-life footage of the crew in action.
Ja Morant Hits the Griddy Speaking of dancing, the Grizzlies’ Morant got a bit of screen time for his play on the court, but he also went viral on multiple occasions because of his penchant for hitting the Griddy in the tunnel and on opposing team’s logos . Yes, it’s in the game. Ja Morant hits the Griddy Credit: 2K Jimmy Butler’s New Hair Didn’t Make it.
. . Yet Some NBA fans may not be aware, but Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler has some new hair.
There is a lot more length in Butler’s do in recent workout videos. As you can see from the image in the NBA 2K23 trailer, the scan for the game was pre-salon visit. Jimmy Butler Credit: 2K 2K does update likenesses after release and sometimes before.
It’ll be interesting to see if Butler gets his updated hairstyle. Devin Booker’s Be Legendary Sneakers The late Kobe Bryant signed Devin Booker’s sneakers back in 2016. He wrote the phrase “Be Legendary” on the shoes.
Booker has written that on his sneakers ahead of postseason games and the imagery is in NBA 2K23. Devin Booker Credit: 2K Booker is also the cover athlete for this year’s game. Brian Mazique worked as an NBA 2K League insider from March-September 2021.
