Games The ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Part 2 Release Date And New Trailer Paul Tassi Senior Contributor Opinions expressed by Forbes Contributors are their own. It just has a few more weeks to go, as the release date for season 4 part 2 is and remains July 1, 2022 , just a little over a month since the release of the first seven episodes. The final two episodes also have new teaser trailer previewing the final conflict, which you can check out below, as it was released during Netflix’s GeekedWeek: We know there’s a big final showdown versus Vecna, but I’m more curious about what Hopper and Joyce appear to be finding in the Soviet facility, as it appears to be a lot more than just a Demigorgon they feed prisoners too. I wonder how that’s going to play into both the finale and the final season.
Even though there are just two more episodes left for Stranger Things season 4 part 2, we know they are massive . Episode 8 is an hour and a half and episode 9, the finale, is two and a half hours long, a complete blockbuster movie with a budget to match, it seems. say these final episodes contain more VFX work than the entirety of season 3 of Stranger Things (which was itself pretty VFX heavy), and the finale has an action sequence that’s an hour long by itself. Overall, this season is about five hours longer in total than past seasons of the show. These final two episodes were delayed not because Netflix is trying to move away from its binge model and spread out interest in the show.
Rather, there was simply so much work to be done on these last two episodes in particular, that they needed the extra month of production time to get them done. Fortunately, episode 7 ends on a pretty solid cliffhanger in its own right as we learn the true origins of Vecna. Again, this is not the final season of Stranger Things.
Things are wrapping up with season 5, which will no doubt be a year or more away, but hopefully not as long as a gap between 3 and 4, provided we don’t have another pandemic to deal with. Or the same one. We have no idea if the Duffer Brothers are going to go this crazy long with the season and episodes again, but considering they’ll probably want season 5 to top everything else, including this one, my guess would yes.
