And wasn’t that month September? And wasn’t I supposed to be in better shape by now and 30 lbs lighter? All my resolutions seem to turn to dust. Well, okay, not all of them. But the whole weight-loss thing? That’s hard.

I love food. Last night I made really delicious chicken and dumplings. I’d never made them before and they turned out absolutely scrumptious! But I didn ’ t really exercise restraint in the butter department, and while I didn ’ t go for seconds, it ’ s not like I had a small bowl either.

Ah well, so it goes. In any case, the time is flying and I’m only getting older. But one of these days I’m going to get serious about this whole healthy living thing because I would like to extend my life on this planet a few more decades if possible.

Caper isn’t just a fun word, it ended up being a really good word for today’s Wordle narrowing my choices down to just 18! My second word was just as good, with tough knocking that 18 down to just 1. That villain Wordle Bot nevertheless had the sheer audacity to tell me: “While your guess cut the number of remaining words to one, there were some other choices that could have been better: guessing BLIND her, for example, will usually eliminate more words than TOUGH.

” Gah! I narrowed it down to 1! The only word better in this situation would have been the answer, which I got on the very next guess: catch. As in, that handsome Wordle guide writer is quite the catch! Too bad he’s done given up on romance and turned into a jaded hermit, furiously typing away at his computer all day, living a life of solitude. Alas! Alack! Be well, dear Wordlers.
