Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Have you ever dreamed of living on a cruise ship full-time? If you’ve got a cool $1 million (or more) to spare, your ship is about to come in. A new company called Storylines has announced plans to launch the MV Narrative, a $1. 5 billion, 753-foot environmentally sustainable cruise ship that will be outfitted with 547 private residences, allowing its residents to travel the high seas in high style starting in 2025.

The MV Narrative ’s home port is in Croatia, but you won’t spend much time there: The cruise ship will circle the globe once every three years, spending up to five days in various ports in order to give its passengers a fully immersive experience. The new MV Narrative, a residential cruise ship with rates starting at $1 million. Storylines For example, a sample three-month itinerary starts in Rome with stops in Naples, Lipari Island and Sicily, before moving along to Malta, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece and Turkey.

The ship will focus on chasing the sun, visiting places when the weather is good. Residents can also help decide where to stop along the way. Besides Europe, other destinations include the Caribbean, South America, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Middle East.

Buyers will own their home for the lifetime of the vessel, which the company says could last around 60 years. Don’t want to commit that much money? There are also some residences available with 24-year leases starting at $647,000. Besides the purchase price or lease, residents will also pay annual all-inclusive fees that cover most meals and drinks, housekeeping, WiFi, laundry, gratuities, unlimited fitness classes and more.

This isn’t the first time a cruise ship has floated this concept: In 2002, a condo-style ship called The World launched with 165 residences and a wealthy clientele. Residents must have a net worth of at least $10 million. The marina lounge on the new M/V Narrative ship.

Storylines It has taken Storylines awhile to get to this point. When the ship was first announced, it was marketing itself as affordable living at sea . And with one delay after another, some critics questioned whether the ship would ever be built.

But with the announcement of a signed construction contract with Brodosplit shipyard in Split, Croatia, things are full speed ahead. So what sets the MV Narrative apart? This environmentally sustainable ship will be powered by liquid natural gas propulsion, which results in 25% lower carbon emissions than a traditional diesel-powered vessel, and will have a zero-waste farmer’s market onboard, as well as a solar-powered hydroponic garden. Storylines You won’t get bored: There will be a movie theater, a bowling alley, a golf simulator, 20 bars and restaurants, a craft brewery, a 10,000-square-foot wellness center, a yoga sun deck, multiple pools and a helicopter landing pad so that you can come and go as you please. It’s not all fun and games: There’s also everything you could imagine for everyday living, like a post office, a library with 10,000 titles, a hospital, a bank and office spaces. Families with children can continue their education with the Worldschooling program, which will include field trips in the various ports of call.

Storylines One third of the ship’s residents are expected to live at sea full-time, while the remaining two-thirds will spend six to nine months of the year abroad.

Mark and Beth Hunter, a Los Angeles-based couple, told a British website that they decided to buy a residence on the MV Narrative partly so that their two teenage daughters could learn about the world and partly because of the conveniences it offers. “Everything is taken care of on board—we won’t have to deal with shopping, cooking, cleaning or laundry,” says Beth Hunter. “We’ll have our own beds and our own things with us.

We can’t think of a more comfortable and convenient way to see the world. ” READ MORE: • How Two Sisters Turned An Old Camp Into The Ultimate All-Inclusive Resort • How This Couple Is Reinventing The Catskills One Hotel (And One Meal) At A Time Follow me on Twitter or LinkedIn .
