Lalbagh and Prana Restaurant have both made the shortlist for the award which has been described as the ‘Curry Oscars’ by former Prime Minister David Cameron. Both places are among the most well-loved Indian eateries in the city, with consistently high reviews on sites such as TripAdvisor. They will compete for the ‘Best Restaurant East Midlands’ prize while Renu’s Takeaway in Milton is shortlisted for ‘Best Takeaway’ The annual awards, in association with Just Eat, will take place on Monday, November 28 at Evolution London.

This year’s ceremony will also pay tribute to the founder of the awards, Enam Ali MBE, who passed away earlier this year. This is the sixth year we have been shortlisted and I am so proud of my team for the hard work and effort that has made this possible.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful customers who have continued to support us. ” A post on the Lalbagh Facebook page said that they were “pleased to be shortlisted”. The BCA production team also popped down to capture some video of the restaurant recently ahead of the awards.
