It recently started selling a bargain electric blanket for £13 but shoppers can now also get their hands on a £20 convector heater . Convector heaters draw in colder air which is passed over an internal heating unit and then escapes through grills on the device. Home Bargains’ Pifco two kilowatt model comes with three heat settings – 750 watt, 1,250 watt and 2,000 watt.

It also has an overheat safety feature and weighs just two kilograms making it portable and easy to move around. Home Bargains’ website says it costs from just 20p to run per hour too, making it a much cheaper option than turning the heating on. That’s based on the average 24 kilowatt gas boiler costing £1.
