Sharing its interior with the XUV300 facelift, albeit with a slightly smaller boot, the XUV300 EV will be equipped with a 35kWh battery, a slight reduction from the XUV400’s 40kWh battery. However, specific details regarding the range and electric motor specifications are yet to be disclosed. With an expected price of approximately Rs 2 lakh lower than the existing XUV400 range, Mahindra’s XUV300 EV aims to carve a niche in the affordable electric SUV market, combining style, innovation, and sustainable mobility.

Camouflaged test mules of the upcoming 5-door Thar suggest a distinctive design to set it apart from its 3-door counterpart. Inside, upgrades include a larger 10. 25-inch touchscreen and a sunroof.

The 5-door Thar is expected to retain the current 2. 2-litre diesel and 2. 0-litre petrol engines, coupled with the familiar 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Positioned as a versatile off-road option, it aims to strike a balance between rugged performance and enhanced comfort for adventure enthusiasts. Priced between Rs 16 lakh and Rs 20 lakh, the mid-2024 launch is highly anticipated. 25-inch infotainment screen, introducing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. While the focus is on the tech-forward interior, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) or a 360-degree camera may not be part of the upgrade, keeping the emphasis on affordability and enhanced connectivity in the electric SUV segment. Launching in February 2024 with a price range spanning Rs 8.

5 lakh to Rs 15. 5 lakh, the extensively redesigned XUV300 is set to redefine the compact SUV landscape. Notable changes include an all-new front and rear-end design featuring drop-down LED daytime running lamps and connected LED light bars, aligning it closely with the aesthetics of Mahindra’s upcoming BE range of SUVs.

Despite the design overhaul, the overall dimensions will remain within the sub-4-metre range. Mahindra’s commitment to modernity extends to the interior, with plans for a comprehensive overhaul and the incorporation of additional features, potentially including a larger 10. 25-inch touchscreen and the prospect of a panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood, the XUV300 facelift will retain its existing engine options, namely a 1. 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1. 5-litre diesel.

Notably, the more robust 131hp, 1. 2 turbo-petrol variant is set to receive a new Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic (torque converter) in addition to the existing 6-speed manual transmission. This upgrade positions the XUV300 facelift as a potent and modern contender in the competitive compact SUV segment.

In the price range of Rs 22 lakh to Rs 26 lakh, the XUV700 is poised for further enhancements, signaling Mahindra’s commitment to meet evolving market preferences. Despite being early in its lifecycle, the XUV700 is set to expand its lineup with a new 6-seater variant featuring captain chairs for the middle row. This move aligns with the popularity of 6-seater configurations with captain chairs, a trend observed with rivals such as the Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari.

The upcoming variant is expected to introduce auto-dimming interior rearview mirrors (IRVM) and potentially address a notable omission with the inclusion of cooled seats, a feature offered by competitors. While these updates enhance comfort and convenience, the XUV700 will retain its existing powertrain options—a 2. 0-litre petrol engine and a 2.

The expectation is for the XUV700 to maintain its distinctive design, with no significant cosmetic alterations accompanying these anticipated interior upgrades. The official launch date for these enhancements is yet to be announced, adding an air of anticipation to Mahindra’s flagship SUV.

Launching in late 2024 with a price tag of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh, the XUV. e8 is the flagship of Mahindra’s next-gen electric lineup. Based on the INGLO skateboard platform, it shares its basic layout with the XUV700 but stands out as an electric derivative with a distinct design.

Powered by an 80kWh battery offering 230hp and 350hp options, it may feature a twin-motor setup for all-wheel drive. Inside, the XUV. e8 boasts three screens – a digital instrument cluster, infotainment display, and a dedicated passenger screen, elevating the electric driving experience.
