While all 32 teams have hopes of contending this season, only one will finish the campaign as champions. Oddsmakers have handicapped each squad’s chances of pulling this off, with some having a much more realistic shot than others to win it all.

The Buffalo Bills are the favorite to capture the franchise’s first ever Lombardi Trophy. The team has been a consistent contender since Josh Allen developed into a franchise quarterback but has failed win an AFC Championship Game since 1993. With +650 odds, bookmakers believe the Bills will finally break through and not only reach the Super Bowl but also emerge victorious when they get there.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are the favorite in the NFC. The return of future Hall of Famer Tom Brady from a short-lived retirement elevated this team’s chances significantly as they now have the second-best overall championship odds at +750. The Bucs came close to defending their Super Bowl LV title last year, but weren’t able to cap off a frantic comeback attempt against the eventual champion Los Angeles Rams.

Speaking of the Rams, they’ve been given +1100 odds—the fourth-best in the NFL—to defend their title. The organization brought back most of its starters from last year’s unit but historically have an uphill battle to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions since the New England Patriots accomplished the feat in 2004-05. The Cincinnati Bengals, the team that Los Angeles beat to capture the Lombardi Trophy, came up just shy of winning the franchise’s first ever Super Bowl back in February.

The odds suggest the Bengals will have a difficult time getting back and winning the big game after the 2022 NFL season. Cincinnati has +2100 odds to be crowned champions, a sensible line given only eight prior teams—and only one since 1994—have even returned to the Super Bowl after losing the prior year. Although they’ve racked up an impressive 50 wins and reached every AFC Championship Game since the start of the 2018 campaign, the Chiefs have just one Super Bowl victory to show for it. With superstar wideout Tyreek Hill traded to the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City could be in line for take a step back offensively, uncertainty that is reflected in the team’s +950 odds. The Green Bay Packers round out the top-five shortest Super Bowl LVII odds list.

The Packers have been a force with reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers at the helm but have largely struggled to make deep postseason forays in recent years. The team looked like one of the top title contenders after an NFL-best 13-4 campaign last year before suffering a disheartening defeat in its playoff opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
