Footage from the scene shows the extent of the damage, which included the front fence of a nearby home. Major crash investigators remain at the scene with a number of road closures in place. Seaview Road is currently closed between Hindmarsh Road and William Street.
Acraman and Carlyle streets are also closed. Police urge motorists to avoid the area.
