SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images Welcome back to Wordle Friday! On Fridays I’ve decided we’ll play for double the points in our competitive game of Wordle. That means double points gained and double points lost. And as we all know, points are the most important thing in life.
That’s why they’re called points. What’s the point of life? Points. You get the drift.
Point would actually be a decent starting word, though I think words with ‘A’ and ‘E’ are generally the best. After all, Wordle Bot used to use crane as his opening guess and now uses slate. The two are pretty similar when it all comes down to it.
In any case, TGIF! It’s been a busy week for your humble narrator and I’m feeling like having a lazy weekend, though I won’t because there’s just too much to get done. No rest for the wicked (or the Wordler). Speaking of which, let’s do this! How To Solve Today’s Wordle The Hint: A bit like grainy.

The Answer (Spoilers): . .
. Today’s Wordle Credit: Erik Kain This is one of those Wordles where I really wish I’d gotten it in two just so I could beat Wordle Bot. And because I was so close! Trial was a pretty good opener, leaving me with 126 words remaining.
Shale slashed that number down to just one! Admittedly, I had to go through all the remaining letters a few times before I came up with mealy and the win, but I got there and got there in three. That’s one point for getting it in three and zero for tying Wordle Bot for a grand total of 1 point x2 for Friday doubles. Two points! Huzzah! It’s funny also if you look at the grey letters in my Wordle box up above they spell out another five-letter word: Trish.
If your name is Trish you get an extra point today. Huzzah for Trish! Play Competitive Wordle Against Me! I’ve been playing a cutthroat game of PvP Wordle against my nemesis Wordle But. Now you should play against me! I can be your nemesis! (And your helpful Wordle guide, of course).
Here are the rules: 1 point for getting the Wordle in 3 guesses. 2 points for getting it in 2 guesses. 3 points for getting it in 1 guess.
1 point for beating Erik 0 points for getting it in 4 guesses. -1 point for getting it in 5 guesses. -2 points for getting it in 6 guesses.
-3 points for losing. -1 point for losing to Erik Let me know if you have any comments or questions on Twitter or Facebook .
