Got it! Jul 7, 2022, 03:36pm EDT | Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Thor: Love And Thunder Credit: Marvel The time has finally come. The latest MCU film, Thor: Love And Thunder, lands in theaters tonight. It’s the second God of Thunder film directed by Taika Waititi after Thor: Ragnarök and it looks really good, even if it’s not reviewing quite as well as that one so far.

The low review scores are troubling, especially since this is a Waititi film and I love basically anything he does. Jojo Rabbit was brilliant. What We Do In The Shadows is hilarious.

The last Thor remains one of my favorite MCU films. It’s hard to imagine this one not being great fun, especially with the Guardians of the Galaxy cast in the mix. In any case, we shall see.

My own review will be up tomorrow here on this blog . For now, let’s talk about the post-credits scenes. Spoilers ahead.

Seriously, spoilers ahead. Okay, so yes, there are two post-credits scenes as is often the norm these days with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s one mid-credits scene and one post-credits scene.

I’ll discuss each below but I won’t go into too much detail, so while there are spoilers they won’t spoil everything. Credit: Disney In the mid-credits scene we meet Zeus who is played by Russell Crowe.

He’s upset with the fact that people worship superheroes instead of gods now (which makes me think of American Gods by Neil Gaiman). “They will fear us again when they see Thor Odinson fall from the sky,” Zeus proclaims ominously. “Do you understand me Hercules? Do you understand me, my son?” “Yes,” Hercules responds darkly.

Hercules, we learn, is played by none other than Brett Goldstein, the actor who plays the lovably grouchy Roy Kent in Apple TV’s Ted Lasso. This makes him the second Lasso star to make it into an MCU post-credits scene. The first was Cristo Fernández who plays Dani Rojas in the show.

He appeared in a post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home as a confused bartender. Literally everyone will be in the MCU by the time Disney is done with it. Everyone.

Post-Credits Scene: Valhalla Heimdall Credit: Marvel The post-credits scene deals with a character who dies in the movie who I will not name because spoilers. But this character shows up in Valhalla, the Norse afterlife, at the end of the film and is welcomed by none other than Heimdall, played by Idris Elba, who was killed in Avengers: Infinity War by Grimace, er, Thanos. So these are both pretty important secret endings.

One sets up the next Thor outing and villain while the other provides audiences with some closure. Be sure to follow me on my blog as well as on Twitter or Facebook so you can check out my review of Thor: Love And Thunder when it goes live. Check out my review of Stranger Things 4’s finale here.
