Advertisements and other images of a second Fortnite X Naruto run have started popping up online, and as such, we know what the next four skins are supposed to be. According to early leaks, we have Hinata, Gaara, Itachi and Orochimaru this time around, joining Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Kakashi Hatake, who will presumably all also return during this second event.
The new skins were glimpsed in early ads seen below: Past that, now advertisements for the second Naruto X Fortnite collab have been showing up in Japan: Given how successful this collaboration has been, I have to believe that Fortnite is going to start seriously pursuing other anime crossovers with more ferocity. The game is quite literally running out of notable Marvel and DC superheroes to add, but there is a massive, wide world of anime out there, and Fortnite has figured out a way to use that animation style to blend with their own pretty well, as evidenced by these Naruto skins. The ultimate white whale is probably Dragonball Z, which not only has dozens of characters that could potentially be featured, but would sort of be the ultimate “Goku in Super Smash Bros. ” moment that has long been a meme back before Fortnite even existed, when other types of crossovers were on the table. When does this second Naruto collaboration arrive? Just a few days from now on Thursday, June 23.
I would expect to see more official, non-leaked teases as a result throughout the course of this week, but prepare your wallets, as the skins cost around $15 each, outside of bundles. Somewhere paired together for closer to $20 last time if you wanted a two-pack. Again, I very much expect to see a lot more anime in Fortnite’s future, though who will be next up after Naruto and company is anyone’s guess, and I’m looking forward to see the IP metaverse they’re making here branch into new territory.
