Synopsis While presenting the state budget, Bommai said the startup park would be established at a cost of Rs 30 crore, as per a report by The Times of India. ETtech Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday announced that the state would set up a state-of-the-art startup park near Kempegowda International Airport. While presenting the state budget, Bommai said the startup park would be established at a cost of Rs 30 crore, as per a report by The Times of India.
The proposed park will be a hub for aspiring entrepreneurs in the state, IT & BT officials said. “This will position Karnataka as a champion state for startups by stimulating the growth of 25,000 startups in the coming years,” said IT & BT minister CN Ashwath Narayan. Narayan further said that the announcement is in line with the state government’s vision of building a $300-billion digital economy by 2025.
As per the report, the park will provide a plug-and-play facility with an ecosystem for developing prototype solutions and market-ready scalable products. The infrastructure will focus on supporting emerging technologies such as agri-tech, climate-tech, and deep-tech. Bommai also said nine new industrial clusters will be established by Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC).
