The couple, a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, came under fire outside a Turin Place home at about 7. 10am on Sunday in Keilor Lodge.

The pair were sitting inside a white Holden Commodore when two gunmen in another vehicle allegedly peppered their car with bullets. The victims remained uninjured in the attack and managed to drive about 100 metres down the road before crashing into a parked car. Police said the male victim was assaulted after he got out of the smashed car and tried to run away.

A crime scene was established, with forensic police analysing the area for most of Sunday. Police also collected footage from witnesses and neighbouring homes as part of their investigation.
