One motoring expert has shared an important safety feature in your car that has surprised a lot of experienced drivers on social media . The TikTok user @chequanxiaoqiao has an account dedicated to showcasing unknown car tricks that help you keep safe on the roads and make the most out of your vehicle.

In one of her recent videos, which has harnessed over 46,000 views in just three days, she explains how to activate a safety function for your car windows. She explained: “Pull the window lift switch for five seconds, the one-button window lift function and the anti-pinch function are set successfully.

“Lift and lower the glass with a single touch. When the window detects an obstacle, it will automatically lower and prevent hands from being pinched. ” A lot of new cars these days have one-touch electric windows, meaning there’s a bigger risk of getting your fingers caught.

But this safety function uses sensors to tell when something is blocking the window as it closes, and stops it in its tracks if there is an obstacle in the way. In the video, @chequanxiaoqiao held the electric window switch up for five seconds in order to turn on the feature. However, whilst many modern cars feature anti-trap windows, drivers are reminded that the method to activate the function may vary on their model, so it’s best to check out your handbook.

She explained: “Align the mirror switch to R [right], put into reverse gear, then adjust the rearview mirror lens to the position where you can just see the rear tire.
