Following the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer , the Chinese manufacturer has now also released a version of the system using up-to-date AMD SoCs. The cheaper model with an AMD Ryzen 5-6600U starts at $388 for a barebone version. The top-of-the-range model with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX could be bought for around $569 at the time of testing.

The device can also be fitted with RAM and SSD – this brings our test system to a total of $809, which includes 32 GB DDR5 RAM, a 1 TB SSD, and Windows 11 Professional. The Morefine M600 comes in an aesthetically pleasing and stable box complete with all required accessories, so your PC is ready to go immediately. Additionally, the box includes a VESA mount which you can use to mount the PC to an external monitor – internally the PC can be fitted with up to three SSDs.

In this review, we put the Morefine M600 up against devices such as the Minisforum Venus Series UM690 , the Minisforum Neptune Series NAD9 , as well as the Morefine M600’s predecessor. You can find a complete list of all these devices in the following table. Purely looks-wise, the Morefine M600 can be compared with its Intel counterpart, the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer .

The case is mostly made out of an aluminium-magnesium alloy, giving the device excellent stability and a high-quality feel. The top of the case consists of a metal-reinforced plastic lid with an engraved pattern. Unfortunately, this is prone to getting scratched due to its high-shine surface.

Size-wise, our test sample lands somewhere in the middle and doesn’t take up too much space on a desk. The Morefine M600 is also quite light, weighing in at only 779 grams. Compared to the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer, this PC’s power adapter is considerably smaller.

In our test sample, the 120-watt power adapter only weighed in at 372 grams. Despite its compact design, the Morefine M600 has a surprisingly good number of ports. With 6 USB ports in total, most users will be more than satisfied.

The same number of ports can be seen in the Minisforum Venus Series UM690 . On the front of the compact PC, there is also a USB-C socket with Thunderbolt support, which widens its range of possible uses massively. In total, three monitors can be connected to the Morefine M600 simultaneously – either via HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C.

The Morefine M600 features a Wi-Fi 6E module from Mediatek. In our practical test, in which we used our ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 router from Asus as our test router, the Morefine M600 delivered above-average stable and consistent transfer rates. However, compared to the Minisforum Neptune Series NAD9 , which has an Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210, the Morefine M600 was considerably slower.

In everyday use, we subjectively wouldn’t notice too much of a difference between the two. If you are looking for faster data transfer, the PC is also fitted with two LAN sockets, which deliver speeds of up to 2. 5 Gbit/s each.

The PC also comes with a 120-watt power adapter and a VESA mount which can be used to fix the device directly to a monitor. Additionally, the manufacturer includes an HMDI cable and a connection cable for a 2. 5-inch drive.

Similar to the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer , the Morefine M600 can be opened up easily. The top is connected with two screws which can be easily accessed from the back. On the bottom, the screws are hidden under the device’s stuck-on feet.

This is a little inconvenient if you ever need to take apart the bottom of the PC. There, you can find the fan and an M. 2 slot, which was already fitted with an SSD in our test system.

In all performance tests run with this device, we used the highest-performance energy profile. Deviations were made only in the power consumption and noise emission measurements in accordance with our test criteria. The CPU’s performance as well as the cooling system’s performance remained unchanged in the BIOS.

There, the SoCs performance can be raised to 54 watts. The AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX is a Rembrandt series 8-core processor with 16 threads, based on a Zen3 architecture chip. At load, the Morefine M600 showed short peaks of 65 watts before the PC stabilized at its 45-watt limit.

This could already be seen with the Minisforum Venus Series UM690 . Compared to its similarly kitted-out competitors, the Morefine M600 lost out in all CPU benchmarks – but only by 4 percentage points. The Morefine S600 Apex Engineer was a little faster, which could be put down to its Intel Core i9-12900HK .

It features 14 cores and 20 threads, which means it achieved better multi-core performance rates than the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX . Still, the difference between them was quite small. With the exception of the Ace Magician TK11-A0 , all our test samples’ results lay quite close together.

You can find more processor benchmarks here . The Cinebench R15 continuous loop gave us our first look at how well the device’s integrated cooling system performed. On the whole, the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX delivered a relatively stable performance of 1,900 points after 50 cycles.

The Morefine M600 performed well in the PCMark 10 system benchmark. It only achieved average results in the Crossmark test, although we measured good results in the RAM tests. Here, our test sample even landed in first place.

In day-to-day use, the Morefine M600 performs well and can be compared with all of the other devices in our test. Using the tool LatencyMon, we already measured slightly increased latencies when opening multiple browser tabs. Playing 4K video and using Prime95 didn’t result in any further increases.

Our Morefine M600 sample was fitted with a 1-TB SSD from Crucial, specifically the Crucial P3 Plus. Attentive readers will notice that we actually performed our benchmarks using a different SSD. During our test, the built-in SSD malfunctioned, which meant we had to use a different model going forward.

The Kingston KC3000 is also a PCle 4. 0 NMVe SSD. We measured good transfer rates in our test with a few weaknesses when it came to continuous output.

The Morefine M600 can be fitted with up to 3 SSDs and you can even connect a 2. 5-inch drive under the PC’s lid – however, the drive can’t exceed 9 millimetres in height. As previously mentioned, the cable required for this is included within the scope of delivery.

For more comparisons and benchmarks, take a look at our comparison table . The other tests already helped paint a picture of the AMD Radeon 680M ‘s good base performance as a Rembrandt-SoC iGPU. With the Morefine M600, we also observed a great performance win over the Morefine S500+ with an older AMD Radeon RX Vega 8.

Comparing it to the Minisforum Neptune Series NAD9 makes it clear that this was very necessary. Due to its Thunderbolt port, we took a look at its performance in conjunction with the Razer Core X and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti . However, due to the desktop graphics card’s lesser PCI Express connectivity, its performance was somewhat limited.

Nevertheless, the iGPU’s 3D performance increased considerably. Our synthetic tests showed results similar to the Morefine M600’s competitors. Only the Ace Magician TK11-A0 fell somewhat behind because of its slower CPU.

You can find more AMD Radeon 680M benchmarks here . Compared to the AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 , the new AMD Radeon 680M showed a big increase in performance. With a few restrictions in detail, some current games ran smoothly – but not always.

When playing Borderlands 3 with medium levels of detail, we only managed to reach 35 FPS. Its gaming performance was good compared to its competitors’, although the Minisforum Venus Series UM690 fared a little better in our tests. Compared to competitors using current Intel iGPUs, the AMD Radeon 680M was able to stand its ground and even managed to lead the way at times.

The same as in our synthetic tests, we took a look at the PC’s gaming performance in conjunction with the Razer Core X and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti . Its 3D performance increased significantly with the use of Thunderbolt and its relevant accessories. Compared to its competitors, which we tested in the same way, our test sample did a great job.

The Intel NUC 12 Pro was able to achieve better performance due to its fast CPU. As a result, The 3D performance of the tested games could be improved by 153 per cent compared to the Morefine M600 based on the iGPU. For further comparisons and benchmarks, take a look at our GPU games list .

As seen in the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer , the Morefine M600 features a similar cooling system, which can operate relatively quietly thanks to its economical SoC. At no load, the device is very quiet and we measured 37. 5 dB(A) at medium load.

This makes the Morefine M600’s noise emissions audible, but they are completely acceptable compared to its competitors. The Morefine M600’s case only heats up slightly, which means that heat is effectively led out of it. In the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX ‘s stress test (which simulates an extreme scenario), we noted a maximum temperature of 90.

9 °C. Compared to the Morefine M600’s performance, its power consumption was very small. This advantage applied to all mini PCs in our comparison.

Compared to the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer , the manufacturer was able to drastically improve power consumption at no load. With a consumption of only 9. 9 to 11.

2 watts, our sample was roughly on the same level as the Minisforum Venus Series UM690 . At load, the Morefine M600 had a slighter higher power consumption than its competitors. Alongside the Minisforum Neptune Series NAD9 and the Minisforum EliteMini B550 , it momentarily surpassed the 100-watt mark.

Its 120-watt power adapter never struggled to supply the PC with sufficient power. The Morefine M600 is a classic example of a mini PC which wins you over thanks to its high-quality finish and great performance. Optically, the all-black device may not offer many highlights, but that doesn’t matter.

With its AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX , you get a very fast 8-core SoC with good iGPU performance – noticeably better than that of the Morefine S500+ . There are definitely some current games which you can play smoothly on the PC without having to skimp on graphic details. However, you shouldn’t look at the Morefine M600 as being a full gaming PC.

Its modern connectivity options including Thunderbolt 4 make the device future-proof – even if its CPU performance stagnates compared to the Morefine S500+. The Morefine M600 is a fast mini PC with great connectivity options. Thanks to its Thunderbolt 4 port, it has lots of opportunities to be pushed to its full potential.

A slight downside of the PC is its built-in cooling system – but it still outshines that of the Morefine S600 Apex Engineer . This can be put down to its slightly more economical SoC. The Minisforum Venus Series UM690 , which we have tested previously, proved to be a similarly kitted-out mini PC which ended up running much quieter at load.

The Morefine M600 can currently be purchased directly from the manufacturer . Prices begin at $569 for the barebone version with the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. The cheaper model with the Ryzen 5 starts at $388 .
