Samsung unveiled its second generation of OLED gaming monitors today with three new Samsung Odyssey monitors unveiled today. This year’s trio of Odyssey OLED monitors includes the G95SD, G80SD and G60SD.

In other news, Samsung said its next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked smartphone event will take place on January 17, at the SAP Center at 10:00 am Pacific time. Last year, Samsung brought its first OLED gaming monitors to market – the G95SC and G85SB – and their displays and gaming specs made them two of the top reviewed monitors of 2023. Now there are new versions of the Odyssey OLED G9 and OLED G8 models.

Samsung will show the monitors off at the CES 2024 trade show in Las Vegas next week. Three new Odyssey OLED monitors will be the first gaming screens to feature OLED Glare-Free Technology that minimizes daylight and ambient light reflections so you can use it at any time of day. No matter the viewing angle or direction, gamers will have an enjoyable and captivating experience that allows you to be in the action with minimal distractions, Samsung said.

The Samsung OLED gaming displays deliver dynamic details and rapid pixel response time. With VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, the monitors deliver more details and vivid colors. All three monitors have AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to eliminate choppiness, screenlag and image tears in fast-action and complex game scenes.

The three models will be available in 2024. The OLED G9 and OLED G8 both feature a 0. 03ms response time and a 240Hz refresh rate for swift responses and smooth transitions during quick gameplay.

Both will have the Samsung Smart TV platform, giving you access to popular video streaming apps. Additionally, Samsung Gaming Hub gives you instant access to your favorite games, no console required. The monitors can be used as a home IoT hub to control various IoT devices.

For example, you can adjust the lights before starting a gaming session. During remote work or multitasking, Multi Control allows users to seamlessly transfer images and/or text between their Samsung monitor and other Samsung devices — including their Galaxy Book, tablet or phone — for a smoother, more efficient work process using their mouse and keyboard. The Samsung Odyssey OLED G95SD is a 49-inch curved ultra-wide monitor with DQHD (5120×1440) resolution.

It has a slim metal design. With a 32:9 aspect ratio, it wraps around your field of view for an immersive experience. And its OLED screen illuminates each pixel separately for a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.

The height of the monitor can be adjusted. You can get all the bells and whistles of an OLED without it taking up too much desk space with the new Odyssey OLED G80SD – the first flat 32-inch Samsung OLED gaming monitor with 4K UHD (3840×2160) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It’s a thin gaming monitor, measuring just 3.

9 millimeters. The OLED display features deep blacks and rich color saturation. It boasts a peak brightness of 450 nits.

The OLED G8 will have CoreLighting+ – sophisticated lighting that beams from the slim circular gaps in the center of the monitor’s rear. The slim metal stand takes up less desk space and makes room for peripherals such as mice and keyboards. The height of the monitor can be adjusted for comfort and its swivel, tilt and pivot can match gamers’ eye level.

27-inch version The 27-inch OLED G60SD will sport a 360Hz refresh rate and QHD (2560×1440) resolution. The Odyssey OLED G6 will also have CoreLighting+ and a slim metal design. The height of the monitor can be adjusted for comfort and its swivel, tilt and pivot can match gamers’ eye level.
