Police were called to an intersection in Cranebrook on Thursday night following reports a car had crashed and was on fire.

Two men and a 12-year-old boy were freed from the burning wreckage. The boy was taken to Nepean Hospital suffering a broken leg and hip injuries. One of the men allegedly fled the scene on foot before emergency responders arrived.

Police were told two men then attended the scene and allegedly placed the third occupant from the vehicle into a shopping trolley before leaving the scene. Paramedics contacted police for assistance upon arrival after they were refused entry into the home. Public Order Riot Squad officers eventually forced entry into the home with concerns for the injured man’s welfare. It’s allege two men aged 40 and 55 hindered police, forcing officers to deploy capsicum spray.

A Taser was also deployed on an aggressive dog, which wasn’t injured. An injured man was found inside the home suffering from a broken leg and head lacerations. He taken to Westmead Hospital where he has since undergone mandatory testing.
