The 3-Port GaN Nexode Pro can provide up to 65W power from a device smaller than a deck of cards. Despite the super thin and super compact nature, the GaN tech will allow for rapid charging of up to 3 devices. Single Port charging will allow up to 65W, 30W, and 22.

5W respectively. When dual charging, enjoy up to 45W/20W (UBS-C1/2), 45W/18W (USB-C1 and USB-A) or 15W total from USB-C2/USBA. When all three ports are in use, you can reach up to 45W from USB-C1 and up to 5V/3A combo from USB-C2/USB-A.

Enjoy retractable wall prongs, easy packability, and reasonable heat dissipation (surface reached up to 164 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep your eye out for the tech and the ability to pick up the 65W Nexode Pro. If you want power/charging options for your new tech, consider picking up a UGREEN charger.

You can find options from 30 Watts up to 300 Watts, which should provide for either portable or more permanent options. Many chargers have switched to GaN technology, allowing for smaller, faster, and more efficient charging opportunities. I have reviewed various chargers designed for smartphones, tablets, portable tech/gaming, laptops, and home/desktop utilities.

Although not yet available on the website, I would like to tell you about a useful upcoming piece of UGREEN tech, the Nexode PRO 65W 3-Port GaN Fast Charger. The UGREEN Nexode Pro 3-Port 65 W Fast charger arrived in a 3 15/16 inches square by 1 1/8 inches tall retail package. The cover panel listed the company name along the top left, the product name and 65W output along the bottom edge, and three product features along the left panel (Less Heat/High-Efficiency GanInfinity, Safe Charging Thermal Guard, and the ability to charge a MacBook Air 13” up to 70% in 60 minutes).

The main focal point of the cover panel was the oblique image of the 65W charger and the small thought bubble showcasing the retractable Type A wall prong. I liked the black-on-white color scheme and the copper/gold-colored “Nexode Pro 65W name. The left side panel listed a helpful specification table, which listed the product name, 100-240V 60/60Hz 1.

8A max input, USB-C1 output 5V/3A 9V/3A 12V/3A 15V/3A 20V/3. 25A 65W max, USB-C2 output 5V/3A 9V/3A 12V/2. 5A 30W max, USB-A1 output 5V/3A 9V/2A 12V/1.

5A 10V/2. 25A 22. 5W Max).

The rear panel, like many of the Nexode products, provided an image of a GaN circuit at the top of the panel and listed product features along the mid-segment: AirPyra Fast charging power and compact size, less heat/higher conversion/efficiency with GaNInfinity, temperature control/protection with Thermal Guard, and UGREEN Smart Charge power delivery. Lastly, the lower segment listed the company contact information and product manufacturing labels. I opened the box and removed the cardboard instruction manual/FCC/IC statement box.

The manual provided English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese instructions throughout each section: Package Contents, How it Works, Power Distribution, Specifications, and Notes panels. The manual suggested that the charger could output 65W from USB-C1, 30W from USB-C2, and 22. 5W from USB-A.

If using two-port charging, you can expect the following options: USBC-1 and USB-C2 can provide 45W/20W output, USBC-1, and USB-A can provide 45W/18W output, and USB-C2/USB-A can provide a total of 5V/3A output. When all three ports are used, the manual suggests that the charger will provide 45W from USB-C1, and 5V/3A output from the USB-C2/A combo. Lastly, the instruction manual provided a detailed specification table and a notes section.

The sections were well laid out, and the instructions were quite intuitive. You will find the 3. 6-ounce charger resting beneath the instruction manual, within a cardboard tray cutout.

The gunmetal gray-colored Nexode Pro charger measured 3 5/16 inches long by 1 7/8 inches wide by 9/16 inches thick. The company name was printed on the main panel along the top left, while the 65W Nexode Pro monicker was listed along the bottom right. Both were printed parallel with the shape of the device.

I liked the matte black font and the contrast with the gray surface. You will find an attractive matte-black panel with three USB ports at the bottom surface. The ports were arranged with the single USB-A port toward my left, USB-C2 in the middle, and USB-C1 along the right.

The company provided a silver/gray border around the USB-C1 to alert the user to the extra output capability of the USB-C1. The back panel had a retractable type A prong along the top and provided the product specification table plus manufacturing labels along the mid-section. The layout/design of the wall prong would allow for you to enjoy both the upper/lower ports of a Type A/B wall outlet.

If using the upper outlet, angle the bulk of the device upward; if using the lower outlet, angle the bulk downward. Following this method, you will not block the upper or lower outlet. I retracted the Type A wall plug, inserted the prong into a Type B outlet on a UGREEN hub and tested the power output.

For the first test, I used my MacBook Pro 15” 2018 (MBP) via the USB-C1 port. Starting at 4:43 PM at 7% power (19. 53V/3.

12A), my MBP increased to 40% by 5:18 PM (19. 51V/2. 88A), to 68% by 5:45 PM (19.

50V/2. 88A), and to 72% by 5:53 PM (19. 54V/2.

87A). The UGREEN charger felt rather hot to the touch during the charging process. Using a Nubee Infrared Thermometer, I found the temperature maximum reached 144.

8 degrees Fahrenheit (62. 67 degrees Celsius). At 5:53 PM, I added a second Klein Tools Multimeter to USB-C 2 and plugged a USB-C to USB-C cable between my multimeter and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The iPhone started at 71% at 5:53 PM (9. 07V/1. 73A).

When I plugged the second USB-C device into the port, the USB-C1 output changed to (19. 71V/1. 41A).

The temperature increased to 164. 8 degrees Fahrenheit (73. 78 degrees Celsius), which was uncomfortable to touch.

By 6:08 PM, my MBP had increased to 80% (19. 74V/1. 41A), while the iPhone 15 had increased to 78% (9.

09V/1. 0A). At 6:08 PM, I plugged a DROK USB-A multimeter into USB-A1 and my son’s iPhone 14 via USB-A to lightning cable.

The iPhone 14 started at 71% power (5. 06V/1. 92), while the MacBook Pro was at 81% power (19.

73V/1. 41A), and my iPhone 15 Pro Max 80% (5. 08V/1.

48A). By 6:21 PM, the MacBook increased to 86% (19. 72V/1.

41A), the iPhone 15 Pro Max increased to 85% (5. 06V/1. 32A), and the iPhone 14 increased to 78% (5.

08V/1. 24A). The temperature of the charger did not increase beyond that seen for the dual charging (164 degrees Fahrenheit).

For a second test, I plugged my Klein Tools Multimeter into USB-C 1 and my iPad Pro 12. 9” (IPP) into the multimeter via USB-C to USB-C cable. Starting at 37% power at 11:07 AM (14.

86V/2. 41A), the device increased to 52% by 11:20 AM ( 14. 81V/2.

48A). I then moved the multimeter to USB-C2 and found the device charged at (12. 08V/2.

46A). I allowed it to charge via USB-C2 until 11:33 AM and found the iPad increased to 63% (12. 08V/2.

46A). The temperature of the 65W charger again felt warm to the touch but not as hot as the above tests (112 Fahrenheit/44. 44 degrees Celsius).

For the final test, I plugged a Nintendo Switch into the multimeter. Starting at 6:39 PM at 12% (15. 08V/0.

85A), the Switch increased to 40% by 7:14 PM (15. 05V/0. 85A), to 50% by 7:28 PM (15.

05V/0. 73A), to 94% by 9:11 PM (15. 09V/.

11A), and to 100% by 9:52 PM when I checked again. I was pleased with the thin shape of the device, the 65W power output, three port power distribution, foldable prongs, lightweight, and overall design. The above image of the lower panel did show a bit of lint on closeup, but I did not appreciate this on day-to-day use.

The Nexode Pro charger was the perfect companion for my iPad Pro and Nintendo Switch when carried in my TimBuk2 Messenger Bag or PowerA Nintendo Switch Messenger Bags. My MBP alone utilized up to 60. 93W, while the IPP charged at 35W, and the Switch charged at 12W.

When charging two devices, I found that the MBP and iPhone 15 Pro Max provided up to 43. 481W (27. 79W and 15.

691W), and when combined, the MBP, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 14 provided up to 45W (27. 8W + 9. 72W + 7.

51W). I cannot wait to see more of the Nexode Pro Line. Although the device is not yet available for purchase, I expect the price to be on par with the other 65W chargers at ~$40-50.
