19 Great Deals From Best Buy’s ‘Black Friday in July’ Sale

Amazon may get all the headlines with its Prime Day sale this week, but it’s not the only retailer getting in on the summer sale action. We’ve found some of the best deals from Best Buy on TVs, headphones, smartphones, home appliances, and more. The WIRED Gear team tests products year-round.

We sorted through hundreds of thousands of deals by hand to make these picks. Crossed-out products are out of stock or no longer discounted. Our Amazon Prime Day coverage page has the latest stories, and our Prime Day Shopping Tips will help you avoid bad deals.

You can also get a 1-Year Subscription to WIRED for $5 here . Updated July 13: We’ve added more deals and updated prices. If you buy something using links in our stories, we may earn a commission.

This helps support our journalism. Learn more . Before we get to the rest of the deals, this one’s worth knowing about.

You can get a $15 Best Buy gift card when you buy from a small selection of other $100 gift cards, including Netflix, Instacart, and Doordash. You won’t get the Best Buy card until you receive the other card, but some in the list support digital delivery, so you can order one, get the Best Buy card, then put it toward some of these other deals. Roku Streaming Stick 4K This streaming stick from Roku has consistently been one of our favorites , and now it’s cheaper than usual.

It comes with the Roku Voice Remote, so you can find your shows without having to use the tedious onscreen keyboard, and the newest version (released in 2021) supports Dolby Vision HDR. We called the LG C1 ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ) a game-changing TV, thanks to its top-tier contrast, 120-Hz refresh rate at 4K, and minimal input lag, all of which make it excellent both for cinema and gaming. Typically we see this set for around $900 at Amazon, but today it’s down to an all-time low.

Sony makes some of the best-looking OLED TVs on the market, and this display is a great one. At 48 inches, it’s not one of the biggest around, but it’s still good for medium-sized living spaces. Its center stand makes it relatively easy to place; it supports both HDR 10 and Dolby Vision types of HDR; and it has a 120-Hz refresh rate that’s handy for gamers.

Yamaha YAS-209 We love this soundbar because it can double as a smart speaker. It comes with Alexa built in, meaning you can ask the voice assistant to play music or do anything you’d typically expect of an Amazon Echo. It sounds great too, with a subwoofer that delivers punchy bass.

We’re big fans of TCL’s 5- and 6-Series TVs around here. While the 4-Series used to be a little too underpowered to earn our recommendations, recent models have started to inherit the specs we liked from previous generations. This 43-inch model is an excellent budget model or if you need a smaller TV for, say, a guest room.

KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus The KitchenAid Pro 5 Stand Mixer needs no introduction. Nevertheless, this is one of the most versatile tools you can have in your kitchen. Its price tends to be pretty sticky, so when we see it drop this much, we take notice.

The Nest Doorbell was very nearly our top pick for video doorbell , but it dropped to runner-up due its price. With this deal, though, that’s no longer an issue. This model has an easy-to-use mount and can get up to a month’s use off a single charge.

This newer Nest Thermostat isn’t as smart as the older Nest Learning Thermostat . But it’s easier to install, you can create schedules, and change the temperature via the app. It also uses your phone’s location to see if you’ve left the house and will adjust the temperature accordingly to save you energy.

Dyson V11 The Dyson V11 ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ) exists in an odd spot. WIRED reviewer Adrienne So called it a “dream vac,” but it’s been discontinued in favor of newer options like the V15 . That makes it somewhat rare to find this vac on sale, and normally the V11 and V15 are close enough in price that you may as well pay a little extra to get the V15.

But at this discount, the older model might be worth it. This remains one of our favorite security cameras. You can use it indoors or outdoors, and this bundle comes with three cameras in total, plus four rechargeable batteries, a charging station, anti-theft mounts, and a yard sign.

The cameras themselves can record up to 2K resolution with HDR, and while you don’t need to subscribe to an Arlo Secure plan ($3 per month for one camera), the subscription will add more helpful features. Google Pixel 6 Pro Google’s latest high-end flagship, the Pixel 6 Pro ( 9/10, WIRED Recommends ) has one of the best cameras in a phone we’ve seen—including the impressive and welcome Real Tone feature that takes better pictures of people with darker skin. It’s been my daily driver since it came out and now it’s even more worthwhile than usual.

Samsung’s S22 line of phones ( 9/10, WIRED Recommends ) are some of the best Android phones you can buy, and this is the lowest price we’ve seen on the base model. It packs a triple-camera system (though it lacks the 10x zoom of the Galaxy S22 Ultra), a gorgeous 6. 1-inch AMOLED screen, and Samsung has promised a whopping (for Android phones anyway) four years of Android upgrades and five years of security updates.

For a little bit more than the S22, the S22+ ( 9/10, WIRED Recommends ) includes a slightly bigger 4,500 mAh battery (vs. the S22’s 3,700 mAh), supports faster charging, and has a bigger 6. 6-inch screen.

If you like the S22 but want a beefier phone, this one’s still relatively close in price. The original Garmin Instinct has been surpassed by some newer models , but at a discount, it’s still a solid buy if you’re looking for a GPS-enabled smartwatch that’s packed with an array of sensors, mapping capabilities, and a rugged casing. Beats Studio3 The Studio3 Wireless headphones by (Apple-owned) Beats ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ) have endured as an iconic headset for a few years now, and for good reason.

They have excellent noise canceling, a solid wireless range, and at least 20 hours of battery life per charge. We haven’t tested Sony’s WH-XB910N, but their more expensive cousin, the WH-1000XM4 ( 9/10, WIRED Recommends ) earned our pick as the best wireless headphones . If you’d rather save some money while still getting some of the benefits of Sony’s headset design, these might fit the bill.

The Alpha a7 IV ( 9/10, WIRED Recommends ) is our top camera pick for most people . The Alpha a7 III may be a generation behind that pick, but it still packs most of the same punch (as long as you don’t need the upgraded autofocus system), and it’s significantly cheaper than the a7 IV. The Pixel Buds A-Series ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends ) are our favorite overall wireless earbuds for most people because you get IPX4 sweat resistance, pretty great sound, and a comfortable fit.

They pair instantly with Android phones but will work fine with iPhones too. The five hours of listening time is a bit low these days, and the case doesn’t support wireless charging, but this is still a pretty good price for a great product. .
