The Oaks’ balanced attack was led by Khalil Caple with 15 points. Brennan Chatman added 12 points, Justin Burrough had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Joshua Mills added 11 points off the bench. Indian River: Riddick 23, Smith 13, Williams 8, Turns 6, Shaw 6, Petteway 6, Smith 4, Walker Josey 3.

Heritage: Lassiter 26, Akins 11, Miner 11, Watkins 9, Boone 8, Byrol 4, Gurley 2, Cunningham 1. Davion Riddick had 23 points, four rebounds, six assists and three steals for the Braves. DJ Lassiter led the Hurricanes with 26 points.

The Warriors (8-3) ended a two-game slide as Izzy Lewis scored 11 points in Western Branch’s showcase. Nansemond River outscored the Patriots 17-3 in the third quarter. All-Showcase selection Landon Ames had eight points, three steals and three rebounds for Nansemond River, and he held Denbigh season-leading scorer Kevin Parker to eight points, 10 fewer than his average.

Jayden Walker led the Patriots with 16 points. Brandon Freeman had 20 points, five rebounds and six assists for the Class 2 Panthers against the Class 6 Bruins. Kareem Davis had 17 points, four steals and three blocks, and Khamani Phillips had 16 points and five rebounds.

Christal Harris had nine points and eight steals. Avia Scruggs passed for six assists. Nyla Brown led the Commodores with 25 points in their victory against an opponent from Tappahannock.

Sarajane Walker added 18 points, Myla Parker 13 and Arianna Owens 10. Norfolk Academy: Scott 7, Adams 7, Harvey 6, DeLeon 9, Hennessy 4, Cutchins 1, Legum 2, Furr 1. Norfolk Collegiate: Booth 13, Beachy 4, Howlett 2, Lorson 13, Owings 2.

Carrie DeLeon scored nine points for the Bulldogs (5-2, 1-0 TCIS). The Oaks’ Chloe Booth and Kylie Lorson led all scorers. Colin Barakey won the 200 and 400 freestyles, Evan Vinarov won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke, Tommy Blackburn won the 50 & 100 freestyles, and Zach McNabb won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke.

The Hawks are 5-1. The Hornets’ 200 medley relay of Troy Salpeter, Tyler Swartz, Ian Garth and Dahmon Harmon qualified for state with a time of 1:56. 92.

The Hornets won every event except the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. The Hawks are 6-0. Hickory’s Abby Maniace won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke, and Western Branch’s Maggie Gahagan won the 200 and 400 freestyles.

Their champions were Leland Mendez (106 pounds), Luca Schinelli (126), Nick Moore (132), Nate Moore (138), Hunter Johnson (144), Allen, Brady Greene (165) and Chase Burns (175). Grassfield’s second-place finishers were Daniel Cadua (113), Christian Johnson (157) and Chris Funches (285).

Eston Castillo (120) and Colton Jones (190) placed third. (Girls tournament) Grassfield’s Sam Jurgens went 4-0 and placed first at 114 pounds. .
