Ellementry sets sights on 80 stores in 3 yrs, bets on mfg to retail model

Jaipur: Kitchenware, tableware, home décor and furniture manufacturer and retailer Ellementry is targeting 80 outlets in India in the next three years. After the disruptions during the Covid pandemic, the Jaipur-based company has scaled up footprint to 16 stores in India. While Ellementry is present in most leading e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Myntra, Naykaa, Tata Cliq among others and shop-in-shop stores, it wants to leverage the power and pull of physical stores to entrench itself against established brands like Fabindia, Home Centre, Good Earth, etc.

Ayush Baid, founder of the startup, said, “At Ellementry, we see the beauty in doing things and not just things that are beautiful. We design with purpose and craft with beauty in mind. Machines are not our artists.

Physical stores are the best platforms to experience the fusion. ” The retailer is riding a boom in gifting, home décor and essentials market with its sales growing over 20%. Riddhima Khandelwal, co-founder & creative head of Ellementry, said that the company is uniquely positioned compared to its rivals to expand its over 2500 product portfolio and lead in major markets.

“Unlike others, we manufacture our products and retail them. It takes us far less time to go from ideation and design to retail stores compared to other brands. We have complete control over the whole value chain that helps us adopt trends quickly, advance deadlines and get the pricing right,” said Khandelwal.

The company has identified cities like Hyderabad and Ahmedabad where it is going to increase its store presence in the coming months. It will also enter newer cities like Lucknow soon. “The immediate plan is to add more stores in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

We will also enter Lucknow with a store. Out of the 16 stores, 4 are company owned and the other are franchisee owned. We are flexible on this front,” added Baid.
