S’pore app uses AI to analyze your dick pic for any potential signs of STDs

Despite society generally being more open about personal health in the 21st century, penis health in particular is still something that’s not openly discussed as much. Perhaps it’s taboo in certain cultures, or maybe men just suffer from too much toxic masculinity and feel ashamed or embarrassed about the topic. This becomes a huge disadvantage for sexually-active men who are afraid to ask questions, or ask for help regarding penis-related issues.

But Singapore-based startup HeHealth may have just the solution for weary men needing very important answers – in the form of a mobile app that uses AI to analyze a photo of your penis for any signs of sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs). All done in absolute discretion, of course. Here’s how it works.

The HeHealth app touts itself as Singapore’s first penis-focused STD detection app. It features a fully built penis-checking AI tool that allows users to get instant results anonymously for their STD concerns, through the use of a user-provided digital image – of course, we’re talking about dick pics here. But in all seriousness, the app actually makes use of patent-pending AI technology that not only detects STDs, but also other types of rare conditions, like penile cancer.

According to HeHealth, their app outperforms primary care physicians in some of the more challenging disease cases, and it also has a 90-percent accuracy rating for human papillomavirus (HPV) screening. Of course, at this point you’re probably very concerned about privacy and what will be done with your dick pic once you’ve submitted it for AI analysis. After all, we don’t want it to end up on some OnlyFans account (or something) without our consent.

But fret not, the app uses multilayered security measures to make sure the photo of your precious friend doesn’t wind up anywhere it shouldn’t be: The app collects ZERO personal information about its users. They won’t even ask for your name, phone number, email address, or other details. Just simply download and snap a pic, and you’ll get an instant result.

The dick pic won’t even be linked to any other data to ensure your identity remains anonymous. Or in HeHealth’s words – “We don’t even know who you are – so nobody else can find out either!” In case you’re not familiar with the term, data encryption involves the use of an algorithm with a key to convert readable data into an unreadable format that can only become readable again with the right key. This is enabled by default on the app, and strictly follows HIPPA guidelines.

All keys are managed by AWS (Amazon Web Services) and are stored in their key management service. Wanting to combat the stigma surrounding STDs, HeHealth was launched to make screening easy, comfortable, and efficient. It also aims to prevent men from getting crowd diagnoses online, which are often inaccurate and could nurture false ideas with misinformation.

This could then lead to major delays with health screening, and could potentially worsen the livelihoods of people with STDs. “To prevent this from happening, we hope to normalize STD screening amongst the community in Singapore. Focusing on penis-related STDs is the first step that HeHealth is taking towards doing this,” said Yudara Kularathne, Co-founder and CEO of HeHealth.

HeHealth has already run more than 1,000 AI analyses for its users with doctor-verified results as of July 2022. So this means you can put your (valid) trust issues aside. To make things easier for users, the app is also completely free-of-charge – available on both Android and iOS .
