Influencers are paying tribute to the Queen and sharing their stance on the monarchy following the announcement of her death

  Social media influencers have joined other public figures in paying tribute to the Queen.   Some influencers have also spoken out to clarify their position on the monarchy following the news. Social media influencers have been paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II following the announcement of her death.

Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8. Screenshots from Instagram. Politicians, celebrities, and business leaders have responded to news that Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday, aged 96, and influencers have also followed suit, posting tributes to the monarch on social media.

 The Queen ascended to the throne in 1952 and reigned for 70 years until her death on Thursday, September 8, 2022.  In a statement to Insider, Buckingham Palace said the Queen “died peacefully at Balmoral” on Thursday afternoon. The Queen’s eldest son Charles, formerly the Prince of Wales, is her successor, now recognized as King Charles III.

 Some of the most-followed influencers in Britain have also paid their respects to the Queen, including gaming and boxing YouTuber Olajide Olatunji, known as KSI, lifestyle influencer Zoe Sugg, and Minecraft YouTuber TommyInnit, whose real name is Thomas Simons.   Many influencers reshared a black and white image of the Queen from the royal family’s official Instagram account. The royal family’s official Instagram account posted an announcement of the Queen’s death on September 8.

“British lifestyle influencer Zoe Sugg, who has 4. 9 million subscribers, shared the royal family’s post on his Instagram story with a caption saying, “A very sad day! Rest in peace your majesty. ” Her brother Joe Sugg, who is also an influencer with 7.

4 million YouTube subscribers, captioned his post, “Rest in peace, your majesty. “Health and fitness influencer Joe Wicks wrote, “Rest in Peace,” under his post, while vlogger Jim Chapman captioned his post, “Thank you. ” Minecraft YouTuber Thomas Simons, who is known to his 11 million subscribers as TommyInnit, captioned the image, “Terrible day.

” American influencer Catherine McBroom, who runs family-vlogging channel the ACE Family alongside her husband Austin, wrote a long message about the Queen on her Instagram story. “Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth. May your transition be peaceful and filled with love and shining light.

May your ancestors and family welcome you home with open arms,” she wrote.   Influencers filmed their heartfelt reactions to the Queen’s death on TikTok @chiaraking #duet with @agirlsaid #thequeen ♬ original sound – agirlsaid TikToker and musician Chiara King shared a tearful video with her 3. 1 million followers yesterday, showing her reacting to a clip from a video the Queen starred in for her platinum jubilee earlier this year.

 “I don’t care what anyone has to say negatively about the Queen. She is the longest reigning British monarch and has touched many people’s hearts. She’s at peace with Phillip now,” the influencer wrote.

An incredible monarch who meant so much to our family and has gone down in British history and done so much for this country,” she told her 3 million followers in an on-screen caption on the post.   Other influencers were asked to ‘clarify’ their position on the monarchy in response to critical comments from followers. @jos_unfiltered_life #fyp#uk#bekind#respectful#britain#rip #queen ♬ original sound – Jos_unfiltered_life Some online reaction to the Queen’s death has been critical of the monarchy as an institution and of British colonialism.

As a result, some influencers who posted tributes to the Queen said they were asked to “clarify” their position on the monarchy. A body positivity influencer with the username @jos_unfiltered_life who has 540,000 TikTok followers posted an Instagram story in tribute to the Queen on September 8, which was seen by Insider, saying, “She has been the embodiment of elegance and class for so long. May she now rest in peace.

” The video is lo longer available to view on her account. On September 9, she posted a TikTok video addressing her post, where she said, “I uploaded a picture on Instagram, and I’ve had quite a few messages since then asking me to clarify my stance, so I’m going to clarify my stance. ” The influencer went on to say, “I don’t really know how to feel, because a massive change, a shift has happened, because this woman has been in charge my whole life, and now she’s gone.

I will admit I have cried. I’m not sure I’m really overly upset, but a massive change has occurred and it’s unsettling. ”  @kyaandco RIP Queen Elizabeth II, longest reigning Monarch in British History.

So many things about the UK and England specifically have changed so much in the last few years, especially after Brexit and the pandemic. ” The video received a mixed response, with commenters discussing their views on the royal family in the comment section.  The influencer, who typically posts about their experience with dissociative identity disorder responded to commenters with a caption under a post made on September 9.

 “To clarify, we aren’t fans of the Monarchy. This video is about the changes to the UK and instability,” the influencer wrote.   @kyaandco and @jos_unfiltered_life did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
