Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin AMD has announced its next generation ‘RDNA3’ graphics cards, starting with the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900XT.
The cards will go on sale on December 13th and cost $999 and $899 respectively – noticeably cheaper than both Nvidia’s RTX 4090 and 4080. AMD has announced the RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX graphics cards, which use its new RDNA3 architecture PaulSakuma. com Photography However, rather than take on Nvidia’s RTX 4090, AMD said its target was the $1,000 price bracket, suggesting it intends to only compete with the RTX 4080 and below for now.
Another interesting announcement was that the new 7900-series cards will not use a PCIe 5. 0 interface – they will stick with PCIe 4. 0 like Nvidia has already done with the RTX 40-series.
AMD’s main goal was to increase performance per watt efficiency and it’s done this in part by using its first GPU-based chiplet architecture. This includes a 5nm Graphics Compute Die with an 18 percent higher frequency and 54 percent higher performance per watt than the previous generation. The result is a board power of 355W for the RX 7900 XTX and 300W for the RX 7900 XT.
AMD was keen to point out that the cards will not require special power connectors. MORE FOR YOU $100M Magic: Why Bruno Mars And Other Stars Are Ditching Their Managers Report Finds New York, Atlanta, D. C.

AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX AMD The new GPUs have 165 percent more transistors per square millimetre and offer up to 61 Tflops of computing power compared to 23 Tflops for RDNA2 – a 2. 7x increase.
In raw performance terms, this, AMD claims, will offer an average of 1. 7x increase in 4K gaming performance compared to the RX 6000-series. AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XT AMD The RX 7900 XTX will have 24GB of GDDR6 memory, while the RX 7900 XT will make do with 20GB.
Both will feature a new DisplayPort 2. 1 interface bringing increased bandwidth and higher refresh rates to 4K (480) and 8K (165) AMD also announced a forthcoming update to its FidelityFX Super Resolution frame-rate boosting feature – FSR 3 with fluid motion – which will offer up to twice the frme rate improvements of FSR2 and will arrive on PC in 2023.
